Sale of Ottawa church to ‘Freedom Convoy’-affiliated group falls through, but leader says deal is still on

The current purchase of a historic Ottawa church slated to become an “embassy” for a group affiliated with the Freedom Convoy has fallen through, according to documents obtained by CTV News.

St. Brigid’s Church was conditionally sold to a group called The United People of Canada on June 15 but as of Aug. 12, real estate listing documents show the property was listed as “back on the market.”

Two years after Trudeau promised a made-in-Canada COVID vaccine, the country is still waiting

In the early days of the pandemic, the federal government announced a multi-million-dollar funding agreement with the National Research Council (NRC) to expand a vaccine facility in Montreal — a site Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said would pump out Canadian-made COVID-19 shots by November 2020.

Two years after the prime minister made that pledge, the NRC facility still hasn’t produced a single vial of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Toronto’s Pearson airport now only 2nd worst in world for delays.

Fatima Sherefa, 17, had a rough night at Toronto’s Pearson Airport on Aug. 6.

Her flight from Toronto home to Winnipeg had been delayed several times and then, just after midnight, it was cancelled.

Sherefa says Air Canada staff didn’t offer hotel accommodation for the night, and instead passed out yoga mats to stranded travellers.

JIVANI: Do Trudeau Liberals even know what racism is anymore?

Justin and fellow racist Laith Marouf

Canada’s federal government is investigating an anti-racism consultant they’ve paid over a hundred thousand dollars. Why? It turns out Trudeau’s expert on anti-racism has said some things that are considered… racist.

I suspect that Marouf is the new normal within Canada’s public service sector given the officially condoned racist belief systems that now percolate throughout Canada’s institutions thanks to the Liberal party.

He got caught is all.

Agreement Was Reached for Convoy Protesters to Reposition Vehicles Before Emergencies Act Was Invoked, Negotiator Says

Dean French, who negotiated with leaders of the Freedom Convoy earlier this year, said the Liberal government didn’t give enough time for a peaceful resolution to transpire before invoking the Emergencies Act to have the protesters removed by force, even though an agreement for the convoy to leave was reached.

“This was a black mark on Canadian history. History will show this was a total overreaction … and the inquiry is going to show that as well,” French told CBC’s Vassy Kapelo in an interview on Aug. 17.

Canada’s handgun ban will work about like you expected

Prime Minister Trudeau slapped a ban on handgun imports until proposed legislation that would ban the sale and purchase of handguns, among other gun control measures, can be voted on by the Canadian Parliament. The import ban was a knee-jerk reaction after Canadians rushed to buy firearms when the Trudeau administration introduced legislation to end handgun sales.

Prime Minister Trudeau isn’t waiting for a debate or a vote. He’s operating by executive fiat. He’s acting like a mini-tyrant, and it’s not the first time he’s trampled on Canadian’s ability to own guns or even protest their own government.

Sabrina Maddeaux: Tiff Macklem wants workers to keep paying for his mistakes

For an institution that continues to claim it’s independent and apolitical, the Bank of Canada sure keeps doing not-so-independent and apolitical things. In the latest news, BoC Governor Tiff Macklem gave insider advice to business leaders not to raise workers’ wages.

How do you best depress worker’s wages?

Open the immigration floodgates as the Trudeau government has done.

Canadian ban on handgun imports kicks in with exceptions

As of Friday, individuals and businesses are no longer able to import restricted handguns into Canada, with limited exceptions.

The move announced earlier this month is aimed at expediting a key pillar of the federal effort to cap the number of handguns in the country.

In May, the Liberal government announced a plan to implement a freeze on importing, buying, selling or otherwise transferring handguns to help quell firearm-related violence.

Negotiator behind deal with Freedom Convoy says Ottawa was too quick to use emergency powers

The man who negotiated on the City of Ottawa’s behalf with Tamara Lich and other organizers of the Freedom Convoy says an agreement for truckers to leave the city’s residential streets wasn’t given enough time to play out before the federal government used its emergency powers to quell the weeks-long occupation.

“This is a black mark on Canadian history,” Dean French said of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act on Feb. 14, just a day after word of an agreement between the city and truckers became public.

“History will show this was a total overreaction.”

Melissa Mbarki: Liberals pretend only the church is to blame for residential schools

… According to The Canadian Press, which obtained documents through the Access to Information Act, an admission of federal guilt was edited out of a speech written for Carolyn Bennett, then minister of Crown-Indigenous relations, in the days following the announcement by the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc Nation that what are believed to be the unmarked graves of about 200 children had been detected on the site of the former Kamloops residential school.

Fucking scumbag Trudeau.

Is the West’s Ukraine response about to fracture?

Presenting the rising cost of living as a necessary price to pay for Ukrainian freedom is a surefire recipe for trouble

Wars aren’t always decided on the battlefield. As bravely as Ukrainian soldiers defend their homeland from Russian invasion, their heroics won’t suffice without continuous military and financial support from the West. American and European leaders have so far stood firmly behind Ukraine. Public opinion, however, is starting to dwindle. The most important fight for Ukraine could ultimately take place in the homes, streets and squares across Europe.

How long will Canadians put up with Trudeau using the Ukraine conflict as cover to inflict his economically ruinous Green-Scam agenda on them?

Why is ArriveCan still mandatory, and what is Ottawa’s plan for the app?

OTTAWA – The glitch-prone app touted as an efficient border tool early in the pandemic has become a punching bag for critics who question its utility — but ArriveCan may be here to stay.

The government insists it’s a useful tool. Critics say it has outlived its use, if it ever had one.

Here’s a quick lowdown on what we currently know about it.

GUNTER: More stats showing Canada doesn’t have gun crime problem

I’m going to throw a lot of statistics at you in this column, but my purpose is simple: To show that Canada does not have a gun crime problem, at least not one that would warrant the kind of draconian gun controls the Trudeau government has brought in during the past two years, and is still bringing in.
