Shocka! Mayor John Tory won’t apologize for calling gunmen who wounded 2 young girls ‘sewer rats’
Activist and U of T professor say such language is dehumanizing, unhelpful
Mayor John Tory says he has no plans to apologize for language he used to describe men who opened fire in a Scarborough playground in June and wounded two young girls.
A day after the June 14 shooting, following a meeting with the girls’ mother, Tory told reporters near the crime scene that he and the family were heartened by the fact that “the police are working aggressively and they’re working with full resources deployed to track these people, these profoundly anti-social kind of sewer rats down.”
On Monday, Toronto journalist and activist Desmond Cole sparked an online debate about Tory’s comments, asking the mayor in a tweet: “did you apologize for calling black people “profoundly anti-social sewer rats” or nah?”
Apparently we’re not allowed to disparage scum sucking animals who shoot kids.
Activist judge to Christian charged with LGBT ‘hate’ speech: ‘Truth…is simply not relevant’
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 14, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruled that the “truth” of statements made by a Christian about a transgender political candidate’s biological sex is “not relevant” and cannot be used as a “defence” against allegations that the Christian was engaging in “hate” speech.
Christian and pro-family activist Bill Whatcott was hauled before the Tribunal last year on the grounds that he had engaged in “hate” speech for publicly exposing a transgender political candidate who claimed to be female, but who was born a biological male. The complainant, Mr. Ronan Oger, who now goes by Ms. Morgane Oger, was a candidate in the 2017 provincial election.
Oger is the Vice-President of B.C.’s New Democratic Party (NDP).
“During the day, they work in a department store and deal with their uptight bitchy boss,” reads the official synopsis for “Super Drags,” the upcoming show. “By night, they tighten up their corsets and transform into the baddest SUPER DRAGS in town, ready to combat shade and rescue the world’s glitter from the evil villains. Get ready, because the SUPER DRAGS are going deeper than you think.”
The Ontario Liberals are suggesting Progressive Conservative leader Doug Ford replace Andrew Lawton, Ford’s hand-picked candidate in London West, after the Liberals revealed more recent racist and sexist comments made by the former media personality during his time with Rebel Media.
With the polls tightening my bet is Ford will toss Andrew Lawton under the bus. It will be the wrong move. Tossing Granic Allen sent a message of weakness and disloyalty. Ford has already set Lawton up as he did Granic Allen by “disavowing” their comments. The PCPO Assassin Special is right on schedule.
Soraya Post, a Member of the European Parliament for Sweden’s Feminist Initiative, suggests that the country ban political parties that criticise migration, Friatider reports.
Post says in magazine ETC: “it is a big threat to democracy and so-called human rights to normalise parties such as the Swedish Democrats (SD). The SD still have a homophobic, nationalist, racist and xenophobic policy, this has not been changed. Their policies are still not inclusive, it still excludes minorities”.
Euthanasia advocate displays ‘Sarco’, a pod that fills with nitrogen, which he hopes will one day be available as a 3D-printable device
A controversial suicide pod that enables its occupant to kill themselves at the press of a button went on display at an Amsterdam funeral show on Saturday.
Called the “Sarco”, short for sarcophagus, the 3D-printed machine invented by Australian euthanasia activist Philip Nitschke and Dutch designer Alexander Bannink comes with a detachable coffin, mounted on a stand that contains a nitrogen canister.
“The person who wants to die presses the button and the capsule is filled with nitrogen. He or she will feel a bit dizzy but will then rapidly lose consciousness and die,” said Nitschke. The Sarco was a device “to provide people with a death when they wish to die,” Nitschke said.
