And despite the hearty bypassing of parliamentary customs and conventions the Liberal-NDP government has enjoyed under the convenient umbrella offered by COVID, outright defiance on serious statutes has been, for now, off the agenda.

(Bloomberg) — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government is opening up Canada to an increase of temporary foreign workers in a controversial experiment aimed at easing strains on the nation’s overheating economy. Starting Saturday, the federal government will loosen limits on hiring low-wage employees from abroad, changes that could bring in thousands of additional migrant workers.

Justin’s friends need to depress wages to further take advantage of the inflation destroying dreams of home ownership.

The Trudeau government is still considering a nationwide ban on handguns as a “last resort,” even as it prepares to introduce legislation that will offer financial support to provinces that bring in their own restrictions.

“There is a robust debate about taking action (on handguns) from coast-to-coast,” said one person with knowledge of the government’s plan.

That’s the conclusion of the federal auditor general, who finds that bureaucrats sat on their fat portfolios even as coal workers were losing their jobs.

With mounting evidence pointing to the Canadian Armed Forces having trained members of Ukraine’s military who are also reported to be part of extremist groups, experts say Ottawa needs to strongly bolster its investigation and vetting of the soldiers it trains and arms in the embattled country.

The Department of National Defence promised a thorough review of Canada’s mission in Ukraine after CTVNews.ca approached them for comment in October 2021, regarding a report from George Washington University that found extremists in the Ukrainian military were bragging about being trained by Canadians as part of Operation UNIFIER.

GOLDSTEIN: Raise taxes $1, it costs $3 in economic growth, says report

Every extra dollar the federal government raises by increasing the personal income taxes of Canadians costs $2.86 in reduced economic activity, according to a new report by the Fraser Institute.

The study by the fiscally conservative think tank also found the decrease in economic activity when corporate income taxes are raised by $1, is $2.02.
