Apparently, the popular backyard mosquito repellants ($14.99 at Canadian Tire online) are occasionally used as a racist symbol by white supremacists.

To hear the federal Liberal government and their media toadies tell it: Yes, truckers and lurking racists (backed by anonymous foreign funders and provocateurs) are seeking to undermine our institutions.

But the biggest threat isn’t even Russian nukes. It’s the Liberal government.

Liberal government extends amnesty on ‘assault-style’ firearms until 2023

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in May 2020 he was banning more than 1,500 models of firearms, including the AR-15.

He also announced owners of these guns would have a two-year amnesty period to come into compliance with the prohibition.

The Liberal government revealed on Wednesday that the order that was set to expire in April would be extended until October 2023.

Nearly three-quarters of Canadians say NATO should prepare to intervene in Ukraine: poll

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has signalled its solidarity with Ukraine in the form of supplies, weapons and sanctions since the early days of Russia’s latest incursion into its territory, but has not deployed troops for combat.

“This is the first time where people say, ‘Give diplomacy and sanctions a chance but brace for potentially this becoming military involvement,”’ said Leger executive vice-president Christian Bourque.

Canadian Military Begins NORAD Arctic Air Defence Operation

After a string of military exercises in northern Canada and the United States in recent days, the Canadian military will conduct a NORAD-specific exercise this week aimed at strengthening the continent’s defence against a variety of threats, including those originating from Russia.

The Arctic air defence operation, dubbed Operation Noble Defender (NB), involves Canadian and U.S. personnel and equipment and stretches from the Yukon to Newfoundland and Labrador, and also covers Alaska and areas off the coast of Greenland.

BRAMPTON, Ont. — Ontario Premier Doug Ford says neither he nor his Progressive Conservative caucus members will be endorsing anyone for the leadership of the federal Conservative party.

When asked about it Tuesday at an unrelated announcement in Brampton, Ont., Ford said both he and the people in his caucus have their hands full supporting the people of Ontario.

CSIS warned space agency about ex-engineer now facing charges: court documents

Canada’s spy agency sent multiple warnings to the Canadian Space Agency about Wanping Zheng, a former engineer now accused of negotiating on behalf of a Chinese aerospace company — and even refused to give a presentation at the CSA because it knew Zheng would be there, according to new court documents.

The RCMP charged 61-year-old Zheng last December with breach of trust in a case police say is tied to foreign interference.
