Prosecutors Fight to Put Bank Files Alleging Huawei’s Ties to China’s Military, Chinese Intelligence and Iran’s Army Before a Brooklyn Jury. Huawei Is Fighting to Bury Them

BROOKLYN, New York — Federal prosecutors are fighting to show Huawei’s jury internal bank records citing alleged links to China’s military and intelligence services, and to play videotaped testimony in which they asked a veteran banking compliance executive about “general concerns about Huawei’s ties to the Iranian military.”

BARBER: EU annexation by stealth — Mark Carney sold out Canada to Brussels and Beijing

Prime Minister Mark Carney met with President Obama in Toronto in May 2026. He also met with Alex Soros at the same time. Alex Soros, son of financier George Soros, is assuming his father’s role as president of the Open Society Foundation (OSF). The OSF is criticized by four European countries for alleged interference in domestic politics. George Soros’s Super PAC, personal donations, “dark money” contributions, and the OSF have provided millions of dollars to the Democratic National Committee. In addition, Alex Soros and Huma Abedin (Chief of Staff for Hillary Clinton) met with Minister of Industry Mélanie Joly and former ambassador Frank McKenna (Chair of Brookfield Corp. and Deputy Chair of TD Bank Group) on July 13. Prime Minister Carney also hired Maia Johnson, who now serves as Senior Special Advisor for the US. Ms. Johnson is a longtime Democrat political operative, having worked on the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. This appears to be the first instance an American Democrat operative has been appointed to such a senior advisory position within the Canadian government.

Chinese National Accused of Illegally Modifying Homeland Security Computers at Maine-Canada Border Station

Chinese National Accused of Illegally Modifying Homeland Security Computers at Maine-Canada Border Station

A Chinese national who managed to get a job working as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection supervisor in Calais has been arrested and charged in what FBI agents claim was a plot to install modified hardware in Department of Homeland Security computers.

Terry “Jiajia” Liu — originally of Guangzhou, per his Facebook page — was arrested after a counter intelligence investigation captured hidden-camera footage of him breaking into government computers and modifying the hard drives.

A simple case of theft makes a nice cover for espionage. Hiring foreigners for sensitive positions is suicidal.

Former Engineer Tells Huawei Jury a Colleague Boasted of Taking Code Used in Amazon’s Cloud Platform

BROOKLYN, New York — A former engineer at Huawei’s American research subsidiary testified Thursday that she was shocked when a colleague allegedly boasted of co-opting patented code used in Amazon’s cloud-computing platform, offering prosecutors an early insider account in the Chinese telecommunications giant’s racketeering trial.

Meanwhile, Huawei’s lawyers argued that jurors should not treat the sworn statement of Meng Wanzhou—the Huawei executive who avoided extradition from Canada and any appearance in this Brooklyn courtroom—as a confession.

Everything About China is Terrible

Everything About China is Terrible

Every time I am invited to China my heart lifts. Within 24 hours of arriving, I have usually hit rock-bottom. By the time my visit is over, I am only too glad to be boarding the plane for Hong Kong and on to the UK. If you want a ‘full fat’ experience of China, try visiting as a keynote speaker at a conference. On arrival at the airport there will, inevitably, be a male driver bearing a card with ‘MacNab’ written on it. He will, almost invariably, be accompanied by a female Master’s student.

Only 15,603 Chinese-made EVs have entered Canada under Carney-Xi deal

Only 15,603 Chinese-made EVs have entered Canada under Carney-Xi deal

Fewer than 16,000 Chinese-made electric vehicles have entered Canada since January under a trade deal struck between Prime Minister Mark Carney and Chinese President Xi Jinping as part of what Ottawa described as a “new strategic partnership” aimed at easing tensions and strengthening economic ties.

That’s less than one-third of the 49,000 Chinese-made EVs that Canada said would be allowed into this country in 2026 under the deal, which vastly reduced tariff rates. Beijing in turn agreed to scale back retaliatory tariffs on Canadian seafood, canola seed and other farm products.

A Manufactured Trade War with Canada

A Manufactured Trade War with Canada

As we enter general election season, we have disruptions in the news and in the economy: a nagging USA-Canada trade war that seems to accelerate at the worst possible times.

In August, the Canadians walked away from a trade agreement to which their negotiators had already agreed, when Prime Minister Mark Carney recalled them specifically to create a fight.

Beijing Feared Meng Wanzhou Would Cooperate in New York—and Mounted a Coercive Campaign to Bring Her Home. Huawei’s Racketeering Trial Starts Without Her

BROOKLYN, New York — “Theft, lies, cover-up.”

That was how Justice Department lawyer Taylor Stout opened the United States government’s criminal case against Huawei Technologies, alleging that the Chinese telecommunications giant spent two decades stealing American technology, deceiving global banks and concealing its business with Iran’s repressive regime.

The government’s first witness took the jury into the prosecution’s claim that Huawei assisted Iran’s domestic-surveillance machinery.

Defence Official Fired After Warning About Beijing Says Ottawa’s Renewed PLA Engagement Bolsters Washington’s Claim That Canada Is China’s Back Door

OTTAWA — A former senior Canadian defence official suing the federal government over a dismissal her lawyer links to Mark Carney’s pivot toward China is pointing to the government’s newly disclosed military engagement with Beijing — and to what she calls growing public recognition that Canada’s partnership with China has impeded trade talks with Washington.

They’re not in the least ashamed about it.

CBC says Beijing told it to announce that China held ‘candid and in-depth’ military talks with Canadian officials last week

As the Carney government pursues deeper relations with Beijing, the Chinese government reports it held a “candid” exchange on military issues with Canadian officials earlier this month.

The meeting — which Beijing said took place in Canada on Sept. 4 — followed years of diplomatic strain and is raising concerns among Conservatives, who reject the idea of military co-operation with China.

China’s defence ministry revealed the two countries held their fifth defence co-ordination dialogue last week. Canada’s Defence Department confirmed that report days later.

Some Americans are now “Chinamaxxing.”

According to Mary Julia Koch, an associate editor of the Wall Street Journal’s Free Expression page, progressive Americans are “fangirling” over high-tech Chinese cities, their public infrastructure, public transit, their cultural practices, and how quickly the Chinese Communist Party is able to build them.

Canadians have learned of the meeting not from their own government, but from a terse statement issued by Beijing.

EU faces 300,000 factory job cuts as China ‘colonises’ supply chains, industry warns

Job losses in EU manufacturing will rapidly increase unless Brussels stops the “colonisation” of industry by Chinese component manufacturers, a leading industry trade body has warned.

Eurometal predicts 300,000 job losses in manufacturing in the rest of 2026 because of expanding competition from China, which is now enjoying a record €1bn-a-day trade surplus with the bloc.

On Monday, Eurometal will bring its concerns to decision-makers in Brussels, staging a protest using 10 symbolic coffins in a procession around the European Commission headquarters.
