With Republicans set to take control of the House, GOP congressional leaders have promised to hold President Biden, his administration, and federal bureaucrats to account and get to the truth on key issues. But after a series of dragged-out investigations into former President Trump and other Republicans, CNN had suddenly had their fill of congressional inquiries with correspondent Randi “Kush” Kaye scoffing at Republicans during Monday’s Anderson Cooper 360.
Out comes the news – make that voluminous news – that the FBI has been engaged in a serious partnership with Twitter to censor everything from the October, 2020 Hunter Biden laptop story in The New York Post to the accounts of this or that conservative. And from the liberal media? But of course — zip, zero, nada.
In its response to the Trump lawsuit, “the most trusted name in news” no longer seeks to hide its true nature from its viewers.
Recently, CNN filed its response to former President Donald Trump’s defamation lawsuit. It is not surprising that CNN’s attorneys seem to have the stronger legal argument. After all, the controlling precedents make it notoriously difficult for a public figure to prevail in a defamation action. It is surprising, however, and more than a little revealing, that CNN’s filing nevertheless tends to support the political complaint that animates Trump’s suit: namely, that CNN, contrary to its branding, is not exactly a beacon of journalistic objectivity and honesty.
On Monday and Tuesday, brave journalists tasked by Twitter owner Elon Musk exposed the corruption and bias against conservatives and the sinister collusion between the social media platform and the government that took place under the previous ownership. This rare act of journalism by non-conservative reporters has been dubbed the Twitter files, and once again has been ignored by the leftist news networks.
NewsBusters has found liberal cable news networks CNN and MSNBC have almost completely ignored the first five installments of the Twitter Files, which revealed Twitter employees engaged in rampant censorship of conservatives. Since the first set of documents were published on the evening of December 2, less half of one percent of the coverage on either network has even bothered to mention the story.

Its correspondents describe us “cavorting in swamps” and surviving on a diet of “porridge and boiled mutton”. It reports that Brexit has ruined Easters and Christmases past and caused shortages of “candy”. Even the death of Queen Elizabeth prompted columns condemning the “repugnant royal demand for deference”.
Brandy Zadrozny’s appearance on Friday’s The 11th Hour on MSNBC with host Stephanie Ruhle raised the question of whether or not the duo read the same Twitter thread as everybody else, because Zadrozny claimed Matt Taibbi’s thread detailing how Twitter suppressed the New York Post article on Hunter Biden’s laptop actually makes Twitter look good.
Mainstream news reporters — in lockstep with Democratic strategists — rushed to social media to smear journalist Matt Taibbi as a “sad” “fraud” as he released his bombshell report on political censorship at Twitter.
“Matt Taibbi…what sad, disgraceful downfall,” Daily Beast columnist and New York Times contributor Wajahat Ali posted. “Selling your soul for the richest white nationalist on Earth.”
Toronto — Conservative commentator Douglas Murray and veteran reporter Matt Taibbi soundly defeated their opponents in a Wednesday evening debate on the question of whether to trust the mainstream media, convincing a significant segment of the audience to abandon their faith in an institution they say is hopelessly compromised by bias.

During Murray’s opening remarks, the British commentator and fellow National Review contributor, laid into Prime Minister Trudeau and Canadian media outlets for failing to challenge the government-approved narrative that the protests were organized by bigots of various stripes.

It has now been a week since Elon Musk took over Twitter, and the wailing and gnashing of teeth is still audible across the legacy media landscape. In one sense, that’s rather shocking: Why, precisely, should members of the media be so apoplectic about a billionaire taking over a social media company from other millionaires, pledging to loosen restrictions on dissemination of speech? In another sense, the outrage is perfectly predictable: The legacy media oligopoly is now under threat.
In both a memo to staff and a story about the network on CNBC.com, CNN boss Chris Licht marked six months this week with the struggling liberal network by announcing he’s been tasked with cost cuts and layoffs as, according to CNBC, CNN’s profit “is set to drop blow $1 billion this year” and Warner Bros. Discovery is aiming to layoff 1,000 people from its 40,000-workforce.
In objectively welcome news, CNBC also revealed Licht will continue to move CNN back toward reality and away from what Licht called “the quick sugar high of ratings and outrage.”
Fully 84% of registered voters named the Mainstream Media as a threat to Democracy. Nearly 60% of voters called the MSM a “major threat.”
The media apparently has no bottom in the free fall from its golden days decades ago.
The latest sign: Gallup today revealed that the percentage of Americans who have “no trust” in journalism outpaces a “great deal/fair amount” for the first time ever.
“Just 7% of Americans have ‘a great deal’ of trust and confidence in the media, and 27% have ‘a fair amount,” said Gallup in dishing up the depressing news for media outlets.
