Nolte: You Can Thank Environmentalists for the Invasion of Ukraine

It is the West’s wacko environmentalists who handed Russian President Vladimir Putin the leverage and money to invade Crimea in 2014 and Ukraine this week.

Without these wackos, Putin would be just another gangster in charge of a crumbling country, and maybe one on the verge of a revolution to depose him.

‘I don’t believe anyone is safe’: drought rules against illegally operating marijuana growers spark accusations of racism against Hmong in California

‘I don’t believe anyone is safe’: drought rules spark accusations of racism in California outpost

“I love the smell of diesel power in the afternoon. It smells like victory.”

The line, a play on the quote from the Vietnam war movie Apocalypse Now, is the first uttered in a July video by Doug LaMalfa, the US congressman for Siskiyou county. In the background, bulldozers are destroying what appears to be a field with marijuana plants.

LaMalfa’s video was a response to a call from the Siskiyou county sheriff, who had invited citizens in this remote region in northern California to help his department in the fight against illegal marijuana grows.

The sheriff’s request, and the congressman’s video, were the latest in an intense standoff between Siskiyou officials and Hmong American residents of the county.

The Guardian always looks through the racialized lens.

Terence Corcoran: Canada’s first ‘net-zero’ carbon fiasco

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s pre-election bailout of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Muskrat Follies hydroelectric mega-boondoggle was announced last week with preposterous “build-back-better” claims about creating “a healthier and more prosperous future” that will help achieve a clean and decarbonized energy system for the province and the country.

Facing Dry Year, CA State Water Board is Draining California Reservoirs

“In the last 14 days, 90% of Delta inflow went to sea. It’s equal to a year’s supply of water for 1 million people.
#ManMadeDrought,” Central Valley farmer Kristi Diener said.

Diener, a California water expert and farmer, has been warning steadily that water is unnecessarily being let out to sea as the state faces a normal dry year.

Delingpole: Davos Is a Madrassa for Global Eco-Fascist Tyranny

To get a better idea of the fundamentally fascistic nature of the World Economic Forum – plotting global domination online all this week – check out this video from one of its young acolytes.

Alexei Levene runs a company called Desolenator and like all Great Resetters just knows that the transition to the Fourth Industrial Revolution must be accelerated immediately. The main problem is that pesky thing called ‘democracy’.

Then They Came For the Balloons

Because I was not a balloon, I said nothing:

The Department of Environment in an educational program for schoolchildren recommends kids avoid party balloons as pollutants. Cabinet proposes to list plastic as toxic under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act: “You are never too young or too old to start taking climate action.”

I’ll just leave this right here:

Quality and safety issues are drawing more attention as incomes rise and upwardly mobile Chinese grow more health conscious. While virtually all toys on the market, whether foreign or domestic brands, are made in China, factories making foreign brands are assumed to abide by more rigorous standards to screen out lead paint and other harmful materials.

France Is Making Ecocide Illegal, But What Does That Mean?

Damaging the environment is set to become illegal in France, punishable by fines of up to €4.5 million and up to 10 years in prison.

A citizens’ assembly included criminalising ‘ecocide’ in its recommendations for the government earlier this year. A group of 150 randomly selected French citizens voted on proposals for combatting the climate crisis and among the proposals was a suggestion to make ‘ecocide’ (extensive damage to ecosystems) an offence punishable by law.
