The gruesome discovery of nearly 1,000 unmarked graves at the sites of former boarding schools for indigenous children in Canada has triggered a slew of church burnings across the country, and the flames may have been fanned by the comments of a popular radio host.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is back on the road doling out hundreds of millions of dollars in climate spending from his Liberal government.
When asked whether they support a federal government bill to promote and demote content in the results of search functions on social media sites like YouTube and Facebook, 62% of Ontario residents said they oppose this initiative. Of those, 41% said they strongly oppose the government having this power, while only 6% strongly support it.
A group of residential school survivors is calling for an end to arson attacks on churches after several Catholic and Anglican churches were vandalized or damaged by fire following the reported discovery of unmarked graves at former residential school sites in British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
The wildfire that tore through the small British Columbia village of Lytton, levelling most of the community and killing two people, is believed to be human-caused, the B.C. Wildfire Service said.
The agency is still investigating what exactly sparked the blaze, but said it appears it started in the community and spread from there.

It’s tempting to say the danger posed by anti-vaxxers would justify their views being banned. That would be wrong.
To be forthright, Cultural Action Party of Canada called it from day one. Rather than sunny ways, freshly-minted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would over time bring serious trouble to society. He has done so in myriad ways– worst of all being an unprecedented form of social division.
An outcome of community disharmony is perhaps best exemplified by Justin Trudeau’s agenda of attack upon Christian Canada, in combination with an advancement of 3rd World religious communities.
Canada Day protesters in Winnipeg knocked over statues of Queen Victoria and Canada’s reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. The only person charged so far is a counter-protester who police say was upset about the statue tear-downs. NDP Member of Parliament Niki Ashton celebrated the vandalism as an act of “decolonization,” despite her four oaths to the Queen as a member of parliament.
It is always important to direct criticism where it really belongs, with those who make the ultimate decisions, not those who are tasked with carrying them out.
