Canada’s public pension fund has invested millions of dollars in companies accused of bolstering China’s military-industrial complex — companies the U.S. government has barred Americans from putting their money into because they allegedly pose a security threat.
The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has invested $3 million in shares of a company that makes components for Chinese warships, and another $2 million in a company affiliated with a manufacturer of fighter jets and unmanned drones, according to its most recent holdings disclosure.

A Toronto police officer has died following an incident near City Hall overnight, Chief James Ramer has confirmed.
“It is with profound sadness that I confirm the death of Const. Jeffrey Northrup of 52 Division,” Ramer said while providing an update on the situation Friday morning.

If I didn’t know that God has things under control I’d be terrified, but in the interest of keeping track of the truth let’s list the top 10 political eruptions we can expect to blow sometime soon.
The new approach to vaccine passports, which are controversial and unpopular, is to call them by a different name. A rose by any other name might not smell as sweet and a vaccine passport by any other name would be less totalitarian.
Chances are you haven’t yet heard about 17-year-old Hunter Brittain who, despite being unarmed, was shot dead by police during a traffic stop. If you oppose the new racism, Kendi proclaims, then you’re a racist. Better sign on to the new “Black” math, designed by people who think African Americans deserve shoddy education—a revival of the old separate and unequal setup—or else face permanent consignment to the camp of Bull Connor.
Breaking with its usual fashion advice and celebrity gossip, Teen Vogue was cheered after posting a fiery obituary for Donald Rumsfeld, dubbing the ex-Pentagon head an “accused war criminal” and a cheerleader for torture.

The most surprising thing about this story is that it was published by CNN. The story focuses on two Jewish college students, both of whom consider themselves progressives interested in a host of progressive causes. But both have also felt themselves excluded and even targeted for abuse when their progressive peers discover they are Jewish.
