American Vogue was yesterday branded absurd for suggesting the phrase ‘a niggling worry’ was racist towards Meghan Markle.

The magazine criticised a Daily Mail front page for using the words alongside Harry and Meghan’s engagement photo in 2017.

It was used in a headline to signpost to an inside article written by Sarah Vine.

But I learned quickly that they were to be scorned and derided for … well, I’m still not sure exactly what. Existing? Stealing all the good journalism jobs? Never mind that my class had exactly two white males, and 26 females.

I bet they all end up working for the CBC or the Star.

The newly-appointed editor of Teen Vogue has apologised for “racist and homophobic” tweets she wrote in 2011 at the age of 19.

Staff at the magazine signed a letter in protest at the hiring of Alexi McCammond, now 29, over the comments.

The letter said it rejected her sentiments at this “moment of historically high anti-Asian violence”.

Meet the woman on a mission to have retailers commit 15% of their shelf space to Black-owned brands

Aurora James was frustrated when she would go to stores and see a lack of Black-owned brands on shelves. It was out of that frustration that the fashion designer decided she needed to be a part of the solution by disrupting business as usual.

“I was so fed up as a woman and a woman of color, being disappointed by the choices that people or companies were making. But I also realized that I failed in a lot of ways to really ask for what I needed,” James told CBS News’ Michelle Miller.

In the aftermath of George Floyd’s killing, she took to Instagram and demanded major retailers commit 15% of their shelf space to Black-owned brands, creating the initiative the “15 Percent Pledge.” “Black people in the U.S. make up nearly 15% of the population,” its website says.
