Liberal MPs Push Back Against Tory Motion Calling for Huawei Decision

Liberal MPs pushed back against a motion calling on the public safety minister to set a date before the Christmas break for the government to announce its long-delayed decision on whether to ban Huawei from Canada’s 5G infrastructure.

The motion was introduced by Tory MP Raquel Dancho during a meeting of the Liberal-dominated Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security on Dec. 14.

Aggressive Zero-Emission Vehicle Quota Plan Draws Fire From Critics

Environment Minister Stephen Guilbeault wants to put a mandate in place by early 2023 that would require auto dealers to meet increasingly higher annual goals for selling zero-emission vehicles. In a plan critics say is impractical, the federal government aims to have half of all new passenger cars sold in Canada be zero-emission by 2030, and to achieve 100 percent by 2035.

Roughly 3 or 4 percent of new cars sold in Canada are zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), commonly called electric vehicles (EVs), Guilbeault recently told The Canadian Press, noting that he wants to mandate increases to those percentages in order to cut carbon emissions and to push Canada to develop such vehicles for the global market. Federal consultations are ongoing to determine how the mandate should work.

GOLDSTEIN: Freeland announces monetary policy Trudeau doesn’t think about

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland announced Canada’s monetary policy framework for the next five years on Monday, odd given that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said during the election campaign he doesn’t think about monetary policy.

Freeland, representing the Trudeau government, and Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem representing its governing council, jointly agreed that Canada’s annual inflation target will be 2%, with a range of 1% to 3%, from 2022 to 2026.

Canada’s diplomatic boycott of Beijing Olympics is phony virtue signalling

HALIFAX—As phony virtue signalling goes, it would be hard to beat Canada’s decision to diplomatically boycott the Beijing Olympics.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that the decision not to send government officials to the 2022 Games reflects Canada’s “deep concerns” about human rights abuses in China.

Deep?

It’s a meaningless gesture against one of the most evil regimes in history but performative bullshit is Trudeau’s stock in trade. Canada’s China class seeks favour with this mass murdering regime. Justin the puppet will make sure it remains business as usual with the ChiComs.

The end of Canadian liberty

Its government slaps on quarantines and snatches rights while its people nod along

This week, my home country of Canada implemented a slew of new travel restrictions in response to Omicron, the newest ideation of what will surely be endless Covid variants.

Based on the reports, this variant is mild and nothing to panic about. But hey, why not panic, just to be safe? And by “safe,” I mean “sufficiently naive and fearful so as to ensure we continue to comply with ever-irrational regulations and restrictions, dutifully marching along dressed in useless and humiliating masks that restrict both breathing and communication, and maintaining religious devotion to vaccines that only work in that they reduce symptoms.”

New Muslim-Liberal Party Caucus Speaks To The Future Of Canadian Society

According to a 2015 Supreme Court of Canada decision, political institutions from across the country must remain neutral with respect to religion.

“Federal and provincial governments are under an equal duty to maintain neutrality with respect to religion,” said Carissima Mathen, a law professor and constitutional expert at the University of Ottawa.

Fascinating it is to discover how this flies in the face of a recent development endorsed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Carson Jerema: Mélanie Joly parrots Beijing lie about the two Michaels being ‘on bail’

If you ever wondered just how allergic the Liberals are to saying or doing anything that might annoy the Chinese Communist Party, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly gave Canadians a good sense of the scale of it on Wednesday. While appearing on CBC’s Power and Politics, she parroted the Beijing line that the now released Canadian hostages Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig were subjected not to a ruthless kidnapping, but to a fair and just legal system.

BONOKOSKI: Full Olympic boycott would have sent stronger message

Now that the U.S. has shuffled to the left enough for Canada to be a politically-aligned neighbor, it seemed the easy choice to follow President Joe Biden and also “diplomatically” boycott next year’s Winter Olympics in Beijing.

The China class is making sure Justin gives the appearance of defiance. It’s all a lie. It’s business as usual with the Communist Chinese slave state.

Power-Hungry Politicians & A Submissive Populace Have Turned Our Rights Into Easily-Revoked Privileges

Time and time again, we’ve watched as a ‘return to normal’ is dangled in front of the populace, then pulled away the moment it’s about to take place.

I’ve written repeatedly about how those in power continuously move the goalposts, and clearly don’t actually want to give up their heightened level of control.

Whenever a new opportunity to spread fear comes up, politicians seize it immediately, ramp up the fear as much as they can, and then attempt to keep their expanded power in place regardless of the underlying reality.

Conservatives reject Liberals’ compromise deal on Winnipeg virus lab documents over firing of ChiCom scientists

OTTAWA — The Conservatives are rejecting a proposed deal over access to documents related to the firing of two scientists from Canada’s National Microbiology lab, arguing the Liberals’ efforts are too little too late.

Liberal House Leader Mark Holland offered the compromise last week. It called for striking an all-party committee to review the confidential documents, with a panel of judges enlisted to settle any disputes over whether the documents should be made public or kept secret.

Trudeau announces lame Beijing Winter Olympic diplomatic boycott

Canada will not send any official representatives to the Beijing Winter Olympics in February as part of a growing diplomatic boycott by allies over China’s record of human rights abuses.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement on Wednesday after facing several days of questions over whether Canada would stand with allies that have already announced similar plans.

The China Class wants the public fooled into believing Canada has taken a hard line against their paymasters.

Terry Glavin: Dominic Barton’s main role in bringing the Michaels home was as a flight attendant

” … Both Democrats and Republicans are raising alarms about McKinsey’s lucrative and highly sensitive contracts with the Pentagon during the Barton years while the company simultaneously provided blue-chip services to shadowy Chinese state corporations, including the blacklisted China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), which has been building heavily-militarized artificial islands in the South China Sea. It was only a few months before Barton’s appointment that Ottawa blocked the CCCC from acquiring Aecon, one of Canada’s biggest construction companies, on national security grounds.

China’s ambassador warns that banning Huawei from 5G would send ‘a very wrong signal’

China’s ambassador to Canada said Tuesday that denying Huawei Technologies access to Canada’s next-generation 5G wireless network would send a “very wrong signal” — raising the diplomatic stakes for the Trudeau government as it prepares to issue a decision on the file.

While some of Canada’s Five Eyes intelligence-sharing allies have made aggressive moves against Huawei — citing concerns that it is an arm of Chinese military intelligence — Canada has stalled on publicly declaring which companies will be permitted to supply equipment to providers of 5G networks.

Beijing’s top diplomat in Ottawa, Ambassador Cong Peiwu, suggested today a decision by Ottawa denying the media giant access would be received poorly by the Chinese business community.

Warns? More like dictates to the LPC’s China suck ups.
