It is time to confront one of the most dangerous illusions of our time: the belief that an International Stabilization Force for Gaza can bring order, reconstruction, or peace without dismantling Hamas. A force that enters Gaza while Hamas remains armed will merely stabilize Hamas itself. It will become, in practice, an International Stabilization Force for Hamas, a shield that protects the very organization that plunged Gaza into tragedy.
So long as there is Islam the world will not know peace.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday designated one of the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy groups in the U.S. a “foreign terrorist organization,” following a similar step by Texas last month.
The directive against the Council on American-Islamic Relations comes in an executive order DeSantis posted on the social media site X. It also gives the same label to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Neither CAIR nor the Muslim Brotherhood is designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

Oh, rats! Toronto has taken the top step of a cross-country podium — but it may not be the trophy it would want.
The city once again took the No. 1 spot nationwide for being the “rattiest” city in Canada, according to a new ranking from pest control company Orkin Canada.
The ranking highlighted the top 25 rat-full cities in the country. Rounding out the podium were Victoria, B.C. in second place and Vancouver in third.

Migrants crossing the Channel in small boats are bringing heroin into Britain on behalf of people smugglers, a Telegraph investigation has found.
Asylum seekers are being offered free or cut-price crossings from northern France if they swallow packets of Class A drugs and deliver them to organised criminal gangs in Britain.
Some migrants who agree to smuggle cocaine and heroin are offered “VIP crossings”, joining women and children on boats that criminals believe attract less suspicion.

OTTAWA — After a week of delays and uncertainty, the Liberals say a deal is back on the rails with the Bloc Québécois to remove religious exemptions from Canada’s hate-speech laws in exchange for support to help pass the government’s bill targeting hate and terror symbols.
A senior government source confirmed to National Post that the Liberals on the House of Commons justice committee, which is currently doing a clause-by-clause study of Bill C-9, are expected to support a Bloc amendment to the legislation that will remove the controversial exemption during a Tuesday afternoon meeting.

Ten months before he resigned from Mark Carney’s cabinet, Steven Guilbeault vouched for the then Liberal leadership contender.
“I’ve known Mark for many years. We’ve worked together on issues of green energy, transition, fighting climate change and the role of the financial sector in fighting climate change,” Guilbeault told reporters when he endorsed Carney’s candidacy to lead the party in January.

US president claims European leaders will let Kyiv’s troops ‘fight until they drop’
Donald Trump has warned Ukraine to accept his peace proposal because Russia is winning the war.
The US president suggested his approach to settling the war was in contrast to the Europeans, who he claimed would let Kyiv fight “until they drop”.
In a wide-ranging interview, Mr Trump accused continental leaders of failing to adequately support Ukraine, branding some of them “real stupid”, as well as claiming Sadiq Khan’s London had been ruined by “ unchecked, unvetted” migration.

Canadian provinces have a strange problem: What to do with millions of dollars worth of American alcohol, pulled from the shelves in anger over US tariffs and now gathering dust in stock rooms?
At least two provinces say the booze will go to a good cause, promising to sell remaining inventory and donate proceeds to charity.
One province is offloading it to restaurants and bars instead of selling it to the public.
