Congress overrides Trump veto of defense bill

WASHINGTON (AP) — Congress on Friday overrode President Donald Trump’s veto of a defense policy bill, a first by lawmakers since he took office nearly four years ago, ensuring that the measure becomes law despite Trump’s rejection.

In an extraordinary New Year’s Day session, the Republican-controlled Senate easily turned aside the veto, dismissing Trump’s objections to the $740 billion bill and handing him a stinging rebuke just weeks before he leaves the White House.

Trump lashed out on Twitter, saying the Senate missed an opportunity to eliminate protections for social media platforms that he said give “unlimited power to Big Tech companies. Pathetic!!!″

Trump also slammed lawmakers for rejecting his call to increase COVID-19 relief payments to $2,000: “They want to give people ravaged by the China Virus $600, rather than the $2000 which they so desperately need. Not fair, or smart!″

Our self-appointed media overlords aren’t very bright

Our self-appointed media overlords aren’t very bright

In February 2017, Mika Brzezinski gave the media’s game away.  She explained that Donald Trump, by trying to bypass media bias, “could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think.”  Mika wasn’t upset that Americans might be subject to thought control.  Instead, she was outraged because, when it comes to thought control, “that is our job.”  Jennifer Bendery, a HuffPost senior politics reporter, is Mika’s spiritual heir because she is stupid, hostile to the Trump administration, under the impression that she owns the facts, and intractable about her ignorance and bias.

Media Ignore ‘Most Admired Man’ Poll After Trump Edges Obama

Media Ignore ‘Most Admired Man’ Poll After Trump Edges Obama

On Tuesday morning, Fox News viewers got to see that, for the first time, President Donald Trump has come in first place in Gallup’s annual poll of “most admired man” of the year.

But in contrast with how journalists swooned over former President Barack Obama the last time he came in first place, the other networks have so far ignored the finding.

Will Washington, DC lock out Trump-supporters on January 6?

Will Washington, DC lock out Trump-supporters on January 6?

When leftists say they want to silence us, arrest us, re-educate us, and utterly and completely destroy us, they mean it. And as we know all too well, they will use any means necessary.

This is what tyrants do.

And so, as patriots start to converge on Washington, D.C. for Trump’s rally, the left is applying pressure to make it difficult for us to secure accommodations.

For NBC News, War Is Peace, and Trump’s Historic Peace Deals Are War

For NBC News, War Is Peace, and Trump’s Historic Peace Deals Are War

Other presidents throughout American history have endured harsh criticism from the press. None of them, however, have faced anything like the relentless, organized hit job that is the establishment media’s coverage of President Trump, featuring not just criticism, but distortion, half-truths and outright lies, all designed to make the American people not just vote against him, but disrespect, despise, and even hate him. In pursuit of this goal, consistency goes out the window, and fairness is but a dim memory. Trump is excoriated for anything and everything he does, even when any remotely fair-minded person would see it as positive. NBC News showed this anew on Tuesday in a “Hot Take” it published about the Israel-Morocco peace agreement.

Unfair Criticism Aimed at Trump’s Pardons – But Obama’s clemency to a betrayer of national security and a terrorist was praised.

Unfair Criticism Aimed at Trump’s Pardons – But Obama’s clemency to a betrayer of national security and a terrorist was praised.

President Trump is coming under fire by the usual Trump-hating naysayers for issuing pre-Christmas pardons on December 23rd to several of his associates who were caught up in the Russia collusion hoax. They were treated unfairly by the FBI and prosecutors involved in the Mueller investigation. One of the most notable pardons went to Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign manager who received an overly harsh sentence and even spent some time in solitary confinement for white collar crimes.  Another pardon went to Roger J. Stone Jr., a political ally and longtime friend of Trump’s who was arrested following a pre-dawn raid of his home by more than a dozen FBI agents. CNN just happened to be there to capture this outrageous exercise of overkill.  President Trump had previously pardoned retired United States Army lieutenant general Michael T. Flynn and former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos, both of whom were hounded for what are known as process crimes.

WORST OF 2020: The Media’s Trump Derangement Syndrome

This week, NewsBusters is recounting the most obnoxious liberal bias of 2020.

They Don’t Have Trump to Kick Around Anymore

They Don’t Have Trump to Kick Around Anymore

Biden and his gang of retreads from the largely unsuccessful Obama-Biden Administration aren’t running against Trump anymore. So now what?

There is substantial danger that the approaching Biden Administration will enter office determined to execute a 180-degree policy course change in almost every field, partly out of the spiteful and irrational antagonism that swiftly arose in opposition to Donald Trump, and partly from the perversity, obsolescence, and reactionary contrariety of current Democratic policy thinking.

AG Barr Gives Update On Durham Probe: ‘Group of People’ Attempted To ‘Topple’ Trump Admin

During an interview last week, Attorney General William Barr gave an update on the criminal investigation into the origin of the Obama-era FBI counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign, saying that a “willful if small group of people” were involved in an attempt to “topple” the Trump administration.

Barr made the remarks in an interview with Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel in which he noted that he was “in a position in life where I can do the right thing and not really care about the consequences.”

The never-ending smugness of the NeverTrumpers

The never-ending smugness of the NeverTrumpers

In March 2016 as Donald Trump looked likely to be the Republican party’s nominee to run for president, more than 100 foreign policy professionals signed a letter vowing not only that they wouldn’t work for him should he become president but that they would work ‘energetically’ to prevent his election. As the months wore on, the light in which the signatories appeared often shifted. Once Trump became the nominee, and then the President, these representatives of the ‘national security community’ appeared to have demonstrated one of the most damaging things any such group could demonstrate: their own irrelevance.

AMA Lied – How Many Died?

The American Medical Association has been adamantly against hydroxychloroquine as a therapeutic for COVID for the past year. Just a few days before the presidential election they reversed course, reversing their opposition. Did they suddenly realize HCQ might have benefit in certain patient groups or were they lying for the past year? How many individuals died as a result of being denied potential lifesaving treatment?

Could? Could? More like “Will” and as quickly as possible.

A Post-Trump Media Landscape

A Post-Trump Media Landscape

Over the past five or so years, the media has shifted its business model to focus on making virtually every story about Donald Trump. From local news stories to every conceivable national scenario, Trump has been the feature.

“How did he influence this?”

“What do Republicans think about this tweet?”

“This is surely the end of the Trump administration!”

Years of this constant barrage. Nonstop.

US intel veterans lied about ‘Russian plot’ — and the media bought it hook, line and sinker

If there is one thing that the Hunter Biden laptop episode has proved, it is that former directors of the CIA aren’t as adept at evaluating evidence as advertised.

Five former directors or acting directors of the CIA signed a letter asserting that the laptop, first reported by this newspaper in the weeks before the election, “has all the hallmarks of Russian information operation.”

More than 50 former senior intel officials, including former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, signed the letter, which was used by the Biden campaign and the media to discredit the damning e-mails about Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
