9 Big Banks, one Yuge problem

Reuters reported, “A top U.S. bank regulator issued a report on Wednesday finding some of the country’s largest banks unfairly denied services to ‌some clients on political, religious or other grounds, but stopped short of imposing penalties.

“The de-banking report from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency covered nine of the nation’s largest banks by asset size. The regulator found each had policies restricting some clients’ access to financial services based on subjective criteria rather than financial risk.”

TD Among 4 Major Banks That Used SPLC in Adverse Decisions Affecting Conservative, Christian Groups, Federal Review Finds

Four of America’s largest banks relied on the Southern Poverty Law Center in decisions affecting conservative and religious organizations, according to a newly released federal debanking report.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency report, released Wednesday, details instances involving JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, and TD Bank, all of which referenced the SPLC while denying loans to organizations or closing their accounts. The SPLC‘s map of hate groups lists some mainstream conservative and Christian groups alongside Klan chapters, due to the groups’ views on marriage, immigration, critical race theory, or opposition to radical Islam.

TD was BIG Gay until recently ending support for Toronto’s Pride con. But they still hate Christians.

Sobeys, Loblaw under fire for maple washing, as Sobeys ditches maple leaf symbol in stores

More than a year after the Buy Canadian movement took root, grocery giants Loblaw and Sobeys are facing increased scrutiny over “maple washing” — the practice of promoting imported goods as homegrown.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) slapped two Loblaw-owned stores in January with $10,000 fines each for maple washing, and one month later, two other Loblaw-owned stores got formal warnings for the same violation, CBC News has learned.

10K fines? The cost of doing business is all.

Disney Lectured America About Morality While CSAM Suspects Worked on Its Ships

I’ll disclose my bias straight off: I believe there’s a special place in Hell below even Dante’s imagination for adults who exploit children. Civilized societies should show absolutely zero tolerance for crimes involving child sexual abuse material or the destruction of childhood innocence.

One of my older sisters once told me that “hate” is a strong word; only say it when it’s necessary. Unfortunately, similar to words like “awesome,” “literally,” and “Nazi,” they’ve been overused to the point where those words lose their strength. Because of what she told me, I’ve refrained from saying “hate” until the situation demands it.

Ben & Jerry’s boss ‘ousted over political activism’

Ben & Jerry’s has said its chief executive, David Stever, was being removed by its parent company, Unilever, in a growing dispute over the ice cream company’s political activism.

The allegation was part of a legal case filed in a US court by Ben & Jerry’s that says Unilever violated a merger agreement by trying to silence its “social mission”.

Unilever did not immediately reply to a request for comment from BBC News.

It comes a month after the ice cream company accused Unilever of demanding that it stops publicly criticising US President Donald Trump.

Missouri sues Starbucks, claiming ‘systemic discrimination’ via DEI because its workforce has “become more female and less white”.

Missouri has sued Starbucks for discrimination because its workforce has “become more female and less white”.

Filed on Tuesday by the state’s Republican attorney general, the lawsuit accuses the coffee chain of engaging in “systemic racial, sexual, and sexual orientation discrimination” through its diversity, equity and inclusion policies, including hiring quotas, advancement opportunities and board membership.

The lawsuit alleges that as of 23 August 2020 the company’s US employee breakdown was 69% women, and that by 24 September 2024 the figure was 70.9% women.

TD Bank Faces $3 Billion in Penalties and Growth Restrictions in U.S. Settlement for money laundering by drug cartels.

TD Bank is expected to pay about $3 billion in penalties and accept limits on its growth in the U.S. as part of a settlement with regulators and prosecutors over charges it failed to properly monitor money laundering by drug cartels.

As part of the agreement, the bank’s primary U.S. regulator, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, is expected to impose an asset cap barring the bank’s retail business from growing above a certain level in the U.S., according to people familiar with the matter.

But TD was the Social Justice bank! – Oh well they’ll just jack up customer service charges and pay this off in a week or two.

I was fired from IBM because I’m a white man

IBM Holocaust

The way Randall Dill tells it, he was a ‘model employee’ for IBM, nurturing relationships with the Pentagon and other big spenders.

Then came the diversity targets, and the Michigander was kicked out of the computing giant so it could hire more women and minorities, he says.

Worse still — says a lawsuit filed with a Michigan US District Court on Wednesday — Dill’s bosses didn’t tell him straight why he was being axed.

Why even ‘woke’ companies are turning their backs on HR ‘snake oil’ sellers

More bosses are pulling the handbrake on costly and inconclusive diversity initiatives

Behind office doors, HR departments at some of Britain’s biggest businesses have recently been feeling defensive and on the backfoot.

Increasingly laid at their doors is the blame for allowing toxic identity politics to enter the workplace, and wasting millions of pounds on pointless diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) schemes.

Pointing the finger are belt-tightening senior leaders scrutinising their returns amid soaring wage bills, with some even feeling betrayed for being shepherded by HR into the vicious culture wars.

Companies Back off ‘Pride’ in Wake of 2023 Controversy

In the decade between 2013 and 2023, Pride Month went from an obscure American event to a nearly global—and in many quarters obligatory—celebration of homosexual acts, cross-dressing, BDSM, and gender ideology. For those of us who believe some or all of these things to be immoral (or at least not the stuff of which parades ought to be made), June has become an uncomfortable month.
