WATCH: Justin Trudeau can’t say “LGBTQ”

As I’ve noted many times, the sexual revolution is moving at such a rapid pace that not even her most dedicated adherents can keep up. Trudeau not only made the mistake of defending abortion as a woman’s right (when everyone knows that men can get pregnant, too), he even forgot the appropriate (and ever-changing) acronym for the alphabet soup squad. Enjoy.

Queering everything

That august journal of American history, Out Magazine, recently reported: “Colonial Williamsburg was a lot queerer than we were led to believe.” This bold assertion was made in an article titled, “Colonial Williamsburg Is Uncovering America’s Hidden Queer History.” It’s true. Sort of. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is endeavoring to reveal America’s supposedly long, if sadly hidden, LGBTQ history.

‘If I’d been a young, black, gay woman I’d have been ok’: Two men at ad agency JWT win sex discrimination case after lesbian director vowed to ‘obliterate white, straight men’

Jo Wallace – White Male Hating Lesbian

A creative worker at a top advertising agency today said he felt like he had ‘a target on my back’ when he was fired after a gay female director vowed to ‘obliterate’ the firm’s Mad Men reputation of being ‘full of white, British, straight men.’

Chas Bayfield and colleague Dave Jenner, who were among five men axed from J. Walter Thompson (JWT) after bosses ‘urgently’ wanted to address its poor gender pay gap, have expressed relief after winning a sex discrimination claim against the company.

A damning gender pay gap report had sent ‘shock waves’ through the firm as it highlighted there was a serious lack of female representation, a tribunal heard.

The National Football League (NFL) recently joined virtually every other American institution in lauding —  and marketing to — the LGBT community during Pride Month in June.  It did so by releasing a new 30-second commercial proudly proclaiming that “football is gay, lesbian, queer, transgender, bisexual and exciting.”

Hungarian PM Says EU Action On LGBT Rights Amounts To ‘Legal Hooliganism’

The legal action launched against Hungary by the European Commission over measures it said discriminated against LGBT people amounts to “legal hooliganism” and is “shameful,” Prime Minister Viktor Orban told state radio on July 16.

The commission — the European Union’s executive arm — opened legal action against Hungary on July 15 in relation to a new law that bans schools using materials deemed as promoting homosexuality, which many in the EU have slammed as an attack on the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people by stigmatizing sexual minorities and stifling discourse on sexual orientation.

San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus Hides ‘We’ll Convert Your Children’ Video After Backlash

The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus unpublished a music video promising to “convert” children to a “tolerant” pro-LGBT worldview after it went viral Wednesday, thanks to its unabashed repurposing of critics’ rhetoric, playfully declaring: “the gay agenda is here,” “we’ll corrupt your kids,” and “we’re coming for them.”

Has anyone noticed the LGBT movement is now homophobic?

The late Rush Limbaugh loved to quip (or was it a quip?) that he was on the cutting edge of societal evolution. Far be it from me to ever question the political insights of the great Maha Rushie, but I just don’t know if it is even possible for a human mind, no matter how keenly it is fine-tuned and honed to the machinations of its political opposition, to anticipate the speed and degree to which social movements are changing these days.

For instance, while many of us recognized that the sexual revolution was never going to stop at gay marriage (did it stop at the mainstreaming of pornography, the advent of no-fault divorce, the fetishizing of adultery, the subversion of sodomy laws?), could anyone have predicted that a movement started by gays, for gays, would so quickly turn to be anti-gay?
