The lawsuit alleges that units of Smith & Wesson(SWBI.O); Barrett Firearms; Colt’s Manufacturing Company; Glock Inc; Sturm, Ruger & Co Inc and others knew their business practices generated illegal arms trafficking in Mexico.
The companies did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The federal government has denied Alberta’s request to amend the Criminal Code to allow people to carry pepper spray for self-defence.
Provincial Justice Minister Kaycee Madu sent a letter to both his federal counterpart and the public safety minister two weeks ago, arguing victims of recent hate-motivated violence in the province would have benefited from carrying pepper spray. Madu also asked Ottawa to establish mandatory minimum sentences for those convicted of hate-motivated crimes.
Pepper spray is illegal to carry and its use can result in criminal charges.
Terrorism peace bond placed on Ontario man for four years
An Ontario man who travelled to Syria and called for attacks in Canada has been placed on a terrorism peace bond that requires him to wear a GPS monitoring device and undergo de-radicalization.
The 26 restrictions imposed on Kevin Omar Mohamed may be the strongest yet approved by the courts since Canadian police began using peace bonds against extremists drawn to the conflict in Syria.
Ontario is reporting 139 cases of #COVID19 and over 17,100 tests completed. Locally, there are 26 new cases in Toronto, 19 in the Region of Waterloo, 18 in Peel Region, 15 in York Region and 12 in Hamilton.

Decision to mix COVID-19 vaccines could cause international travel difficulties for millions of Canadians
Canada’s move to mix COVID-19 vaccines as part of a strategy to quickly immunize as much of the population as possible could present travel challenges to millions of people who received different doses.
While research has shown that mixing a viral vector vaccine, such as AstraZeneca, followed by an mRNA vaccine, such as Pfizer, produces a significant immune response, some countries, including many in the European Union, don’t recognize certain vaccines and vaccine combinations.
That means that those with mixed doses may not be considered fully vaccinated and could require additional COVID-19 safety measures such as testing and quarantining. Cruise lines can also deny boarding to passengers.

A celebrated artist in Kingston, Ont., who goes by an Ojibway name and is known for paintings on Indigenous themes has been making inaccurate claims for decades about being Indigenous and a Sixties Scoop survivor, according to family, members of 11 First Nations and other close acquaintances.

“My family is white,” said one of the artist’s brothers, Allen Blanchard, who describes his family’s ancestry as primarily Norwegian, English, with some French.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo violated federal and state laws by sexually harassing multiple women — including current and former state employees — through actions that included touching their “intimate body parts” without consent, officials said Tuesday.
Cuomo also allegedly retaliated against some of the victims and created a “toxic” and hostile work environment in the Executive Chamber, officials said.
