Men falsely accused of rape are victims too, says wrongly-charged student as he backs disclosure move

A student who was wrongly charged with rape has said men falsely accused of a sexual offence are also victims as he welcomed the move to force complainants to hand over their phones for disclosure purposes in such cases.

Liam Allan , then 22, went on trial in December 2017 facing 12 counts of rape and sexual assault. He had spent two years on bail and endured three days of trial before the case collapsed as it emerged his supposed victim had been pestering him for “casual sex”.

Now, he says while it was “completely understandable” that rape complainants might not wish to hand over data, he insists that the move is “a good step as long as it’s not trawling through unnecessary information”.

Joe Biden On Me Too Allegation: I Don’t Think I Acted Creepy, But If I Did…It Was Not Intentional

Former Vice President Joe Biden might be in some “Me Too” trouble. For years, we’ve seen the photos of the shoulder grabs, him whispering in some woman’s ear and the reactions of what looks like recoil embedded in those pictures. The wife of then-Secretary of Defense Ash Carter’s photo with the former VP is a prime example.

This sounds like Creepy Justin Trudeau’s defense.

Scotland Yard investigating sexual assault allegation against former BC Premier Gordon Campbell committed while serving as High Commissioner to the UK

Scotland Yard is investigating an allegation of sexual assault made against the former Canadian High Commissioner to Britain by a female London embassy worker.

The Daily Telegraph can disclose that Gordon Campbell, a prominent politician who served as premier of British Columbia for more than a decade, has been reported to police, accused of groping a member of staff in 2013.

The complaint has been passed to the Foreign Office, which is facilitating discussions between the force and the Canadian authorities.

Whitehall sources indicated that Canada may open its own inquiry and could waive Mr Campbell’s diplomatic immunity if asked to do so.

A spokesman for Mr Campbell said: “This complaint was transparently disclosed and became the subject of a full due diligence investigation at the time by the government of Canada and was found to be without merit.”

Mr Campbell’s alleged victim, Judith Prins, today breaks her silence to accuse him of groping her before a meeting at Canada House, the country’s embassy in Trafalgar Square.

Wall Street Rule for the #MeToo Era: Avoid Women at All Cost

No more dinners with female colleagues. Don’t sit next to them on flights. Book hotel rooms on different floors. Avoid one-on-one meetings.

In fact, as a wealth adviser put it, just hiring a woman these days is “an unknown risk.” What if she took something he said the wrong way?

Across Wall Street, men are adopting controversial strategies for the #MeToo era and, in the process, making life even harder for women.

Oh, This is VERY Problematic – Stormy Daniels’ Attorney Michael Avenatti Arrested for Felony Domestic Violence

Stormy Daniels’ Attorney Michael Avenatti

Michael Avenatti, who became famous for representing Stormy Daniels in her battle with President Trump, has been arrested for felony domestic violence … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our law enforcement sources say Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after a woman filed a felony DV report. We’re told her face was “swollen and bruised” with “red marks” on both cheeks.

Our sources say the alleged incident occurred Tuesday night, but there was another confrontation Wednesday between the two at an exclusive apartment building in the Century City area of L.A.

We’re told Wednesday afternoon the woman was on the sidewalk on her cellphone with sunglasses covering her eyes, sobbing and screaming on the phone, “I can’t believe you did this to me. I’m going to get a restraining order against you.”

We’re told security brought her inside the building, took her upstairs and Michael showed up 5 minutes later and ran into the building. He screamed repeatedly, “She hit me first.” We’re told he angrily added, “This is bulls***, this is f***ing bulls***.” We’re told he tried getting into the elevator but security denied him access.

Cops showed up and escorted Avenatti into a corner of the apartment lobby and spoke with him for 5 to 10 minutes and then took him into custody.

A law enforcement source says on Tuesday, Avenatti “kicked her out of the apartment” and that’s when the alleged domestic violence occurred. We’re told she went back to the apartment on Wednesday to retrieve her belongings and called police to stand by in case things got heated.

We’re told Avenatti is currently in custody.
