John Ivison: Let Starmer’s defence-spending implosion be a warning to Carney

Al Carns, the 24-year Royal Marine veteran turned British politician, posted a Facebook video over the weekend , two days after he resigned as the U.K.’s armed forces minister.

Carns followed his boss, defence minister John Healey, out of the door, with both claiming that the Labour government’s defence funding plan was inadequate.

Declassified 1992 CSIS memo warned refugee system could be exploited by Islamic extremists

Declassified 1992 CSIS memo warned refugee system could be exploited by Islamic extremists

A newly released Canadian Security Intelligence Service memo from 1992 warned that Islamic extremists could exploit Canada’s refugee system to enter the country while avoiding the security screening routinely applied to other foreign nationals.

Blacklock’s Reporter says the declassified document, obtained through Access to Information laws, argued that refugee claimants were particularly difficult for authorities to screen and monitor because many arrived using improper documentation and with little verifiable background information.

The SPLC’s Real Scam

The SPLC’s Real Scam

It turns out that the most generous funder of white supremacist groups in the United States was likely the Southern Poverty Law Center.

At least that’s what the Department of Justice’s superseding indictment against the SPLC alleges. The organization secretly paid informants to engage in the active promotion and funding of racist groups while denouncing and “fighting” the very same groups in public. The SPLC purportedly created fictitious entities to hide funding from their donors.

Left behind

Left behind

White flight from urban areas was a widespread phenomenon throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s, and into the ‘80s, but not all whites retreated to the suburbs. The fate of those left behind, mostly elderly whites, does not get reported. If the progressive press does mention them, it treats them with the same contempt that it reserves for the Afrikaners in South Africa. It dismisses them as racist relics that deserve whatever fate befalls them. But what was their fate? History books are mute on the subject. The reality was harsh for those elderly whites trapped in their homes as the neighborhood changed around them. They did not envision spending their golden years struggling to survive in a hostile environment.

The Western Surrender: The U.S. unleashed wokeness on a world incapable of handling it

The Western Surrender: The U.S. unleashed wokeness on a world incapable of handling it

COTTONWOOD, Arizona — In something like its current usage, the term “woke” originated a century ago among African Americans in reference to awareness of racial prejudice. More recently, it came to embody modern identitarian progressive ideology — and then quickly became shorthand in the U.S. for leftist excess. Americans’ long exposure to battles over identity and our insistence on treating people as individuals may have granted us strong immunity to a toxic political movement our country spawned. While wokeness is, at its core, an American innovation and export, the movement is in retreat across most of American society.

By sinking the Royal Navy, Labour succeeds where Hitler and Napoleon failed

By sinking the Royal Navy, Labour succeeds where Hitler and Napoleon failed

DR Mark Felton, a respected military historian, last week published a devastating video exposé of the Royal Navy’s doom loop at the hands of successive governments.

The ‘sell-off’ of the Navy and its suicidal crippling by ‘all must win prizes’ regardless of merit and ability. The DEI mandates appear nothing less than deliberate. It is frankly a frightening and disturbing watch, an unemotional and factual account of the non-stop assault on one of the country’s once greatest assets. One is left feeling that the generation of uni-party politicians who drove this are either treasonous — they knew what they were doing when they set out to destroy our ancient maritime defence — or irresponsible to the point of mental deficiency. Dr Felton asks whether the doom loop can be halted.

The Last Canadian Politician I’d Trust to Police the Internet

The Last Canadian Politician I’d Trust to Police the Internet

Justin Trudeau’s nine-year tenure as Canadian prime minister, which ended when his own Liberal caucus tossed him overboard in late 2024, can be divided thematically into two distinct periods.

During the mid-to-late 2010s, he presented himself as a sunny Canadian patriot. Then, following the COVID pandemic, the George Floyd protests, and the unmarked-graves social panic of 2021 (which Trudeau’s own government did much to spread), he sounded the exact opposite theme: Canada, he began telling Canadians, was in fact a deeply racist genocide state. He ordered his Liberal colleagues to implement a massive “Action Plan on Combatting Hate,” and introduced legislation that would give his government new powers to stamp out hate speech.

The unqualified £15-an-hour council ‘enforcement officers’ who can fine you up to £500 and get you arrested for failing to hand over your personal details

Councils across Britain are employing environmental enforcement officers with no qualifications to police their streets by handing out fines for littering and spitting.

Workers are being sent out on daily foot patrols in an attempt to catch people and issue Fixed Penalty Notices under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

They are given the power to issue on-the-spot fines of up to £500 to those spotted dropping small items such as food wrappers, chewing gum and cigarette ends.

Trouble looming for Carney? Canadian PMs lose 67% of elections during recessions, 60% during technical recessions

Trouble looming for Carney? Canadian PMs lose 67% of elections during recessions, 60% during technical recessions

Economic recession is one of the most reliable precursors to a change in government. When the economy is growing, Canadian prime ministers win elections 83 percent of the time; when it is in recession, they lose 67 percent of the time.

But economic stagnation is almost as dangerous: since 1980, incumbents have lost three in five (60 percent) elections held in contexts of economic stagnation or technical recession (two consecutive quarters of 0.2 percent growth or negative growth).

The Elbow people have an irrational tolerance for self-inflicted pain so I’m not counting on an awakening.

Internal emails obtained by National Post show that senior officials at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) had a discussion with the Palestinian representative to Canada, in which she attempted to get involved in, and was updated on, the progress of its upcoming “Nakba” exhibit, raising fresh questions about the political agendas behind the highly controversial exhibit at the publicly funded museum.

Did fears about homophobia prevent Preston Davey from being saved?

Did fears about homophobia prevent Preston Davey from being saved?

Poor baby Preston didn’t have much of a start in life. His mother Sarah, now 42, was jailed aged 14 for the 1998 torture and murder of a pensioner. Preston was, justifiably, taken from her after birth. Given these unpropitious circumstances, it was the job of the state – here Oldham council – to give him a fair start in life. To begin with, that’s what happened; a decent foster family looked after him.

Peak woke wickedness. This poor child was horribly abused, much like the Two mom’s case in Ontario and the Atlanta nightmare.
