Spanish PM Blames Inequality and Misinformation for Ceuta Invasion

In an evasive address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez cast himself as the victim of international reactionary forces while claiming to be a champion of globalist socialism.

Taking to the U.N. podium on Wednesday afternoon — after refusing to meet with host President Donald Trump — Prime Minister Sánchez attempted to deflect blame for the major border control failure that was the mass invasion of illegal migrants from Morocco into Spain’s North African exclave city of Ceuta at the end of July.

Canadian government uses hundreds of Chinese-made drones, documents reveal

OTTAWA — The Canadian government is using at least 1,600 Chinese-made drones across more than a dozen public service departments with varying security protocols, documents tabled in Parliament show.

The RCMP is the biggest user by far with 1,027 of the drones, but says it has avoided using them in national security operations and will look elsewhere as it prepares to use hundreds of millions of dollars in upcoming funding to expand its fleet.

While hair, saliva and other canine material may be found at crime scenes, or on individuals connected to incidents, scientists say they are often not fully investigated.

Yet such traces could provide valuable clues, from the identity of a canine perpetrator to evidence a dog’s owner was present at a crime scene.

Plenty, it turns out. And his recent calls for an alternative to the U.S. greenback as a global reserve currency will not go over well in Washington, where the dollar’s dominance is seen as an indispensable tool in the conduct of U.S. economic and foreign policy.

RCMP say Quebec man researched chemical weapons, planned attack for ISIS

A 24-year-old Quebec City man has been charged with terrorism-related offences, according to federal police. The RCMP say Louay Angoud intended to carry out an attack on behalf of the Islamic State.

He is alleged to have communicated online with members of a terrorist group and gathered information to build a chemical weapon that could be used to poison Canadians.
