U.S. President Donald Trump’s pause on his proposed 50 per cent tariffs against Canada brings “relief” for businesses, but the uncertainty over the trade relationship continues, some industry groups said.
“Let’s be clear: the tariff delay provides relief on both sides of the border. A second suspect has been arrested in relation to the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosions in 2022, German prosecutors said on Wednesday.

OTTAWA—The mayors of some of Ontario’s largest cities are pleading with the province to explore options for involuntary addiction treatment as a tool to fight the current homelessness and drug crisis.
“We need to not be afraid of having the difficult conversations,” said Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, also chair of the Ontario’s Big City Mayors caucus, which represents 29 of the province’s largest municipalities.
