‘We must not allow woke activists to stop us confronting Islamist extremism,’ says former UK home secretary

A prominent British MP has warned against sanitising the deadly “ideological virus” of Islamism, claiming the woke minority are threatening efforts to root out Islamic terrorism.

Writing exclusively for the Telegraph, former home secretary Sajid Javid slammed those who cry “Islamophobia” when Western governments seek to deal with the challenges of Islamist extremism.

Javid, who is himself a Muslim, claimed that Western liberal democracies are under threat from a “grotesque form of separatism” that needs to be confronted. He added that President Emmanuel Macron is right – a reference to the French leader’s crackdown on Islamist extremism.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) scrubbed a tweet on Monday that included an anti-Semitic phrase often used by terrorist groups that seek the destruction of Israel.

Screenshots from the Internet Archive’s “Wayback Machine” show that Tlaib retweeted a Saturday post that included a graphic promoting Palestinian solidarity and the phrase “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.”

Austria: Playful “asylum seeker” teens make mock execution video – tell police “it’s perfectly normal” in their culture

“…The teenagers said, according to “Today”, that such clips were “perfectly normal” in their culture and that it was a joke. FPÖ chairman Norbert Hofer identified a mockery of the victims of the attack in Vienna and demanded that the people involved and their parents be expelled: “This culture, which the young people talk about, has no place in our country.” Anyone who thinks something like this is funny and “shares such situations as videos in social networks has no place in our society.”

California: ISIS Jihadi Stabs Four in University Classroom, University Blames Toxic Masculinity

The FBI last Wednesday released new details about the case of Faisal Mohammad, who in November 2015, while he was a freshman at the University of California, Merced, entered a classroom and stabbed four people. It was already known back at the time of the attack that young Mohammad was a jihadi: The College Fix reported that he “was found to have an image of the ISIS flag, a handwritten manifesto with instructions on how to behead someone, and reminders to pray to Allah.”

The political ideology that feeds terrorist violence cannot be explained away by religion or colonial history

President Macron’s hate affair with the American media continues, if a recent New York Times article is anything to go by. The president is not happy, and thinks the Anglo-Saxon press fails to understand French laïcité and the universalist model, as opposed to the Anglosphere model of multiculturalism, with its distinct roots in the British Empire. While this is undoubtedly true, the more pressing issue might be the gulf in understanding of Islamism, the target of Macron’s campaign.

Four more children are charged over French teacher’s beheading: Group includes daughter of man who launched campaign against Samuel Paty for showing Mohammed cartoons

Four more people – all of them teenage students – have been charged in connection with the brutal murder of teacher Samuel Paty in France last month.

Three of the four students have been charged with identifying Paty to 18-year-old Chechen Abdullakh Anzorov, who beheaded him before being shot dead by police.

The fourth is the daughter of Brahim Chnina, leader of a campaign against Paty, who claimed to have been in class when he showed cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed but is now charged with lying after it emerged she did not attend his lessons.

The first person to be convicted of trying to leave Canada to join a terrorist group remains “too high a risk” a month before his scheduled release from prison, according to the Parole Board of Canada.

In a decision released Tuesday, the Parole Board said Mohamed Hassan Hersi’s behaviour had been mostly “terrible” since he was imprisoned in 2014 and imposed restrictions he must follow upon his release.

They include living at a halfway house, having no unsupervised access to the internet and undergoing treatment to deal with “ingrained extremist ideologies and violent behaviour.”

It’s ‘sweet relief’ to be home, says US boy forced to threaten Trump in IS video

An American boy who was made to threaten President Donald Trump in an Islamic State group video says it was “sweet relief” to return to the US.

Matthew, taken to Syria by his mother and stepfather, was 10 when he was filmed telling Mr Trump to prepare for a battle on US soil.

Now 13, he has been living with his father for a year, after being flown home by the US military in 2018.

“It’s happened and it’s done. It’s all behind me now,” he told the BBC.

“I was so young I did not really understand any of it.”
