A judge ruled that two undercover FBI agents pretending to be part of a far-right militia that allegedly plotted to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will have to testify in court using their real names.

Chief U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker said the two agents, who have only been known as ‘Mark’ and ‘Red,’ will have to make their real identities known after the trial begins next week at the U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Jonker said it was to ensure militia members Adam Fox, 38, Daniel Harris, 24, Brandon Caserta, 33, and Barry Croft, 46, are given a fair trial for their alleged role in the 2020 plot orchestrated with five other members.

One of the unpleasant realities that became patently clear during 2021 is that leftist operatives, whether inside or outside of the government, have a new tactic to discredit conservativism: They pretend to be conservatives, either to entrap conservatives or to falsely expose them as bad people. The latest example of this kind of fakery is a video that was recently “leaked,” and that purports to show members of the “Patriot Front,” an allegedly conservative organization, revealing their true Nazi colors. There’s nothing conservative about the video but there is a distinct whiff of FBI hanging about it.

Adoration of “G-men,” once celebrated in the nonpartisan war on Al Capone and organized crime and now leading the effort to round up Jan. 6 Capitol riot suspects and Trump supporters, is apparently waning.

In the latest sign of how today’s politics is dividing support for major Washington institutions, the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows more people than not view the FBI as the punishing political arm of President Joe Biden.

In one of the more unbelievable statements from someone working in the American government, FBI Director Christopher Wray has allegedly sworn that his agency will bring down the bad guys named in Ghislaine Maxwell’s little black book. Those pedophiles are toast, right? Well, I have my doubts. To the extent that the FBI has seemed to take it upon itself to be a protector and enforcer for the Democrat party, the only way I see it following up on the evildoers whom Ghislaine knew is if they pose a threat to Democrat party political dominance.

Problems continue to pile up for federal prosecutors in the lead up to the March 8 trial for the five men charged with plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Prosecutors confirmed in mid-December they would not call on three FBI agents closely linked to the investigation due to allegations of personal and professional misconduct. Also in December, a key undercover informant involved in the case was charged with fraud in an unrelated case in Wisconsin.

Defense attorneys want dismissed the indictment against five men accused of plotting to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan, because of what they call “egregious overreaching” by federal agents and informants.

The government alleges that the men were upset over coronavirus restrictions last year when they conspired to kidnap Whitmer, a Democrat then spoken about as a possible vice-president, even scouting her second home in northern Michigan.

Five people are charged with kidnapping conspiracy and face trial on 8 March in Grand Rapids. They have pleaded not guilty and claim to be victims of entrapment. Federal prosecutors have argued the men were not entrapped.
