A Canadian vaccine researcher says he believes that Chinese political machinations ended a vaccine partnership last summer.
Dr. Scott Halperin, the director of the Canadian Centre for Vaccinology, made the accusation Thursday to the Special Committee on Canada-China Relations.
The government response to COVID-19 has mostly been a failure. Theatric, yes—see New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Emmy. Symbolic, yes. But there is no evidence shutdowns did anything but deepen the economic suffering, increase suicides, and prevent lifesaving medical tests and treatments.
With the exception of former President Trump’s effort to speed research, approval, and rollout of a COVID vaccine through Operation Warp Speed, and efforts to discourage the spread of the virus through border restrictions (now abandoned by President Biden), what policies can objectively be shown to have worked?
On Thursday night, a masked Biden tottered down a long, empty hall to a podium. He then gave the most bizarre presidential address in American history. After a grim recital of “facts” about the last year, Biden emphasized multiple times that Americans had better take the vaccine — and be grateful to him for his amazing ability to get the vaccine to Americans. He also insisted that, vaccines or not, the government’s in control and can lock all of us up all over again.

Face coverings are being worn by the majority of individuals around the world in order to curb the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus which causes Covid-19.
However, they pose a greater risk to the environment than carrier bags because of their ubiquity and the fact there is no way to safely decontaminate and recycle them.
Even locked down City of Toronto workers are heading to the land of freedom and opportunity called York Region.

I could scoot up to Vaughan or wherever once freed but the guy who cut Kathy’s and my own hair for the last 20 years is still closed thanks to our Covid commissars.
He survived the 1st lockdown but just barely. He always treated Kathy so well I promised I would wait till he was open again to help keep him afloat.

Ontario is reporting 1,371 cases of #COVID19 and over 64,600 tests completed. Locally, there are 371 new cases in Toronto, 225 in Peel, 111 in York Region and 109 in Hamilton.

Tam, Hajdu confident in Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine
OTTAWA — Canada’s top doctor and federal health minister say they see no reason to halt the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in Canada, as other countries have done citing blood clots following inoculations.
Speaking to Evan Solomon, host of CTV News Channel’s Power Play, on Thursday, Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam said that because Canada hasn’t been supplied with the same batch of AstraZeneca vaccines as the several European countries who have suspended its use, there’s no need to follow suit.
If they’re endorsing it I’m staying away.
Canada’s chief public health officer Theresa Tam described COVID-19 as “low-risk” up until a few days before internal Trudeau government emails discussed the “accelerating” situation in Canada compared to China.
COVID-19 was “mostly under control in China, but accelerating in Canada” according to a March 20, 2020 email sent from Privy Council Office staffer David Hamilton.
Canada’s health minister Patty Hajdu said the government is “certainly working on the idea of vaccine passports” with its fellow G7 partners.
“I was on a call with my G7 health minister counterparts just a couple of weeks ago and that is a very live issue,” Hajdu explained last Sunday on CTV’s Question Period. “We’ll be coming back to Canadians as we understand more about the intentions of our counterparts internationally, and as we understand more about how that will unfold around the world,” she explained.

Denmark, Norway and Iceland have said they are temporarily suspending inoculations with the AstraZeneca vaccine as a precautionary measure, after blood clots formed in several people who had received the jab.
Italy’s national medicines authority also said it was banning the use of one batch of the AstraZeneca shot after being notified of “some serious adverse effects”, but stressed the move was precautionary and no link had yet been established with the vaccine.
This is the same crap Ontario is rolling out via pharmacies. I qualify in the age group targeted but have a lot of doubt about the Astra Zeneca jab. Something does not seem right.
Significant number of Ontario PSWs refuse their COVID vaccine
It looks like Premier Doug Ford let the cat out of the bag when it comes to some health-care workers refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine offered to them.
Earlier this week, the Ontario Ministry of Health responded to a question from this newspaper by saying that they don’t track health-care workers who take, or don’t take, the COVID vaccine they are offered.
Turns out that’s not true and the government does have some detailed numbers.
Ontario is reporting 1,092 cases of #COVID19 and over 60,600 tests completed. Locally, there are 293 new cases in Toronto, 199 in Peel and 79 in York Region.
As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 1,019,407 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

Canada to mark national day of observance to commemorate those who died of COVID-19
OTTAWA – Canada will mark the one-year anniversary today of the World Health Organization declaring COVID-19 a global pandemic.
Earlier this week Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is to deliver a statement in the House of Commons this morning, designated March 11 a national day of observance to commemorate those who have died.
The government has asked Canadians to think about those whose lives were claimed by the novel coronavirus, as well as the health-care and other essential workers who have been on the front lines.
