A Tennessee woman convicted of murder survived two doses of lethal injection on Wednesday night before state officials suspended the execution and had her taken to a hospital for medical care, her lawyers said.
It was the second botched execution in the state this year.
The apparent failure came after dueling court rulings delayed the execution of the woman, Christa Pike, by about nine hours. The state had raced to go ahead with the execution before the day ended and to avoid having to reschedule.

OTTAWA – The federal government has identified “anti-Zionism” as a driver of anti-Jewish hate — a major policy shift that has prompted a range of reactions.
The change took place on Sept. 24 when Public Safety Canada published a progress report on federal efforts promised in January to combat antisemitism.
The report said Ottawa sought to do a better job of recognizing and responding to “contemporary manifestations of antisemitism, including anti-Zionism.”

Five men were arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and terrorism after the incident close to RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on Sunday before being bailed.
The base has been used in recent months by US bombers to launch air strikes against Iran, a fact which has been at the centre of speculation about whether it was involved in the drama, including by tasking proxies to carry out crimes on their behalf on UK soil.

Of course security funding would be much less needed if Mamdani didn’t insist on allowing Muslim and Marxist hate rallies outside synagogues. That’s the equivalent of legalizing arson and then funding some smoke detectors.
