The WB-Paramount Lawsuit is About Dems Controlling the News Business

The WB-Paramount Lawsuit is About Dems Controlling the News Business

Being the ruling class means a complete lack of self-awareness. That’s about the only way to explain this Deadline article.

While Hollywood and states gave a pass to Amazon swallowing up MGM, there have been howls of outrage over David Ellison’s takeover of Paramount, along with CBS, followed by more howls over a deal with WB. Why was the Amazon + MGM deal fine? Back then at least, Jeff Bezos was still being a good liberal, and even afterwards, he’s had limited involvement with Amazon and the behemoth destroying the American retail sector is safely pushing woke garbage with its Amazon Prime video content.

It’s not ‘body shaming’ to worry about Ariana Grande’s appearance

Whatever the reason, it’s obvious to anyone with two eyes that Ariana Grande is too thin. The singer, who seems to have lost an extreme amount of weight in recent years, released a new music video, ‘Petal’, on Friday in which her starved frame is on full display. Her jutting breastbones, ribs and hollow eye sockets make for painful viewing, with many fans and commentators speculating on the star’s physical and mental health.

‘It took 16 hours’: About half of Google reviews of Canadian hospitals are negative, study finds

Many Canadians have not-so-fond memories of their hospital experiences, suggests a new study that found nearly half of online hospital reviews analyzed involved negative feedback.

A random sample of 1,000 Google review comments involving Canadian acute care hospitals from 2017 to 2022 found people were more likely to leave negative (47.9 per cent) than mixed (19.8 per cent) or positive (32.3 per cent) reviews.

Former Vancouver Mayor Says a British Columbia Cabinet Minister Is Under Active Investigation Over China Links, and That Carney Government Is Not Acting on Foreign Interference

VANCOUVER – Kennedy Stewart, the former mayor of Vancouver, says a sitting member of British Columbia’s cabinet is the subject of an active investigation over alleged links to the Chinese government, and that Canada’s federal and provincial leadership, including Premier David Eby, know that foreign interference has reached into the country’s institutions and are not acting on it — a failure Stewart says extends to what he describes as a sustained attack on his own 2022 mayoralty campaign, mounted from inside a foreign consulate and from a radio transmitter placed beyond the reach of Canadian regulators

She said the government is working to establish mechanisms to safeguard the rights and legitimate interests of foreign servicemen throughout their military service.

Antisemitism ‘normalized’ at Canadian universities, government survey finds—professors blamed in 1 in 5 incidents

A national survey of Jewish post-secondary students has found that antisemitism at Canadian universities is not an isolated problem but a pervasive feature of campus life, with the overwhelming majority reporting they have experienced or witnessed it in the past year.

The Campus Antisemitism and Student Experiences (CASE) report, commissioned by the federal government and produced by the Association for Canadian Studies and the Metropolis Institute, surveyed roughly 900 Jewish postsecondary students. It found that 95.7 percent had experienced or witnessed at least one antisemitic incident in the previous year, and that 84 percent said antisemitism is now a serious problem on their campus.

Fish rot from the head down. This is the antisemitism of the elite in academia and government. (Alternate link)

Is ‘Communist’ No Longer a Slur?

Is ‘Communist’ No Longer a Slur?

It is not difficult, these days, to see the neo-communist flipside of “Democratic Socialists” — once they find power.

Indeed, the more the ossified Democratic Party claims that its growing cadre of socialist renegades are not really socialists, the more they act like — and even appear comfortable being called — communists.

With every new policy they propose, the socialists have been dropping the pretense that they are not Marxists.

…The finding of misconduct concerned a November 2019 board meeting, where Del Grande opposed a motion to add “gender identity, gender expression, family status and marital status” to the board’s Code of Conduct as protected categories. Del Grande suggested that if those terms were included, the board should also consider protecting “transvestite, bestiality, pedophilia, gerontophilia and paraphilia,” among others.

Cambridge academics reject university’s attempt to end row over Jason Arday

Cambridge academics reject university’s attempt to end row over Jason Arday

The University of Cambridge has announced a review into the way it vets and hires senior academic staff in an effort to fend off external and internal criticism of its appointment of Jason Arday as a professor.

But a group of Cambridge academics quickly rejected the university’s response, saying: “We strongly believe that a thorough and transparent investigation into the wider circumstances of this damaging episode is essential.”

Arday resigned earlier this week after mounting scepticism over his personal and professional claims, three-and-a-half years after he was acclaimed as Cambridge’s youngest black professor with a life story of educational disadvantage, including being unable to speak until the age of 11.

Doug Ford’s ‘secret weapon’ is failing him. Now his Tories are in trouble

Doug Ford needed a good summer. He isn’t getting one. And it could end up being a big deal for his government.

Ford has always been a bizarre politician to watch. You will never hear me count him out. Ontario’s premier has made a habit of surviving things that would be unsurvivable for most politicians. Many have written Ford off as political roadkill, only for him to come roaring back and win another majority government. I take his political skill seriously, as should his opponents.

Canadian Grandmother Was Euthanized Without Her Consent

Canadian Grandmother Was Euthanized Without Her Consent

An 83-year-old Canadian grandmother was euthanized under the country’s Medical Assistance in Dying program on July 10, 2026, despite having previously declined it because of her Christian faith and without providing what her family describes as a final verbal confirmation of consent.

Brigitte Stegemann, known lovingly to her family as “GG,” died by lethal injection at The Pearl (formerly E.J. McQuigge Lodge), a long-term care facility in Belleville, Ontario, where she had lived for the previous two years.
