Last week, a report by Macdonald-Laurier Institute senior fellow Eric Kaufmann and co-authors detailed the high cost of the equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) quota system in academia. They showed that the prestigious Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program — a $300 million annual federal expenditure to keep research talent in the country — has sacrificed excellence in pursuit of diversity.
“DEI – Code For Anti-White Racism”
Christopher Dummitt: Racism accusations can’t stifle the truth about diversity
In a Macdonald-Laurier Institute report published last week, authors Eric Kaufmann, Leif Rasmussen and Jonah Davids dare to ask what seems to be, for some, a forbidden question in Canada: Does prioritizing diversity in hiring mean losing excellence?
The claim that equity leads to research excellence is made regularly. Our national research funding agencies declare that equity “strengthens research outputs and increases the overall excellence of research,” and the Canada Research Chairs program itself, which mandates diversity quotas, insists that “Achieving a more equitable, diverse and inclusive Canadian research enterprise is essential to creating the excellent, innovative and impactful research necessary to seize opportunities.”
Key government jobs, such as safety inspectors and intelligence analysts, being prioritized by race
Applicants to some of the most critical jobs in the Canadian federal government, including safety inspectors and intelligence agents, are now being explicitly told that they might be rejected if they don’t fit within an “equity-deserving” identity category.
And in some key federal government departments, 100 per cent of new hires are being screened based on race and identity.
This is all according to a new report by the Aristotle Foundation for Public Policy.
Your own government discriminates against you. Because you have white skin.
Trump Admin Moves to Strip DEI-Drenched Schools of Tax Exemptions
Donald Trump and his administration repeatedly warned Academia to drop its discriminatory approach to hiring and admissions. The Supreme Court warned Academia to do the same. Most business entities smelled the coffee and began distancing themselves from DEI practices. Rather than recognize that the time for discrimination on the basis of ethnicity had passed, universities dug in their heels, perhaps none more so than Harvard.
Mental health nurse who failed to check on a patient she held ‘grudge’ against before she took her own life jailed for neglect
A mental health nurse failed to check on a patient she held a ‘grudge’ against for almost half an hour before she took her own life.
Laurence Tchapong, 54, should have carried out observations every five minutes on Amy Barber, 22, at the Brooklands psychiatric intensive care unit at Clatterbridge Hospital, Wirral.
But Liverpool Crown Court heard that the nurse resented Ms Barber for complaining about her sleeping on the job and had not checked on her for 25 minutes.
How many have to die?
Eric Kaufmann: It costs Canada millions to discriminate against white male academics
The case of Jason Arday shows that when a system of prestige institutions drops its standards on the basis of identity characteristics, the effects can be tragic. Cambridge University claims that Arday is an exception , but the Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s new report, “ The Equity-Excellence Tradeoff: a Study of EDI in the Canada Research Chairs Program ,” suggests that he is the rule: equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) hiring damages academic excellence at scale. Nowhere is this more evident than in the prestigious Canada Research Chairs program.
Pickering mayoral candidates urged to withdraw for ‘person of colour’
TORONTO — A private email sent to all five candidates for mayor of Pickering has sparked widespread backlash after urging them to withdraw from the race to make way for a “qualified PoC.”
The message, dated Tuesday and signed by Jessica Davis, was shared publicly by candidate Shaun Rickard.
Be smart Pickering don’t elect a Chow or Mamdani.
Meet Farah Ahmed, Jason Arday’s colleague
After the Jason Arday disaster, here is new evidence that things have gone deeply wrong at Cambridge University.
We can reveal that a former supporter of Hizb ut-Tahrir, now banned as a terror group, has been appointed assistant research professor of education at Cambridge, in the same faculty as Arday.
Farah Ahmed has explicitly attacked ‘western education’ as a ‘threat’ to Muslims, condemned democracy and integration, and criticised British schools for teaching pupils that child marriage is wrong. During her time at Cambridge, she has written that the Islamic concept of education is sharply opposed to ‘gaining literacy and numeracy and other disciplinary skills demonstrated through qualifications’.
Researchers blame DEI for fast decline in Canadian goodwill for Jews, Israel
Non‑Jewish Canadians hold less favourable views of Jews today than they did just two years ago, and their attitudes toward Israel have soured even more over the same period. Those are the findings of the Canadian Jewish Barometer 2026, a new national survey, and its authors pose several reasons for the decline.
A factor exacerbating the downward slide is diversity, inclusion and equity (DEI) programs that have eroded the very sensibilities they were designed to correct, said Rhonda Lenton, former president of York University, and co‑author of the study.
The embrace of DEI by major Jewish organizations such as the ADL cost them a great deal of social capital among non-Jewish supporters.
This article maintains that “Whitey is the Uber Oppressor” sitting atop their victimhood pyramid.
88% of Canada’s largest corporations set demographic hiring targets, 96% mandate DEI training: Study
The vast majority of Canada’s 25 largest publicly traded corporations have set explicit demographic targets for hiring and promotion and made DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) training mandatory for their workforces, according to a new study measuring the depth of diversity, equity, and inclusion ideology in Canadian corporate culture.

The Equality Act institutionalised racism – against whites
THERE is a term for what is happening in Britain today but the establishment is terrified to say it. That term is institutional racism. For years we were told that the goal of the Equality Act was to protect discriminated against minorities. Now the mask has slipped. Racism and prejudice have not disappeared; they have simply been reworked and aimed at a new target: the British white majority.
The most damning recent evidence of this systemic rot is the ongoing scandal within the Royal Air Force. Recent disclosures have moved this from a policy failure to a full-blown crisis of integrity. Official documents and parliamentary testimony show that senior leadership allegedly lied to the Defence Secretary to hide the scale of their illegal recruitment practices.
Mark Milke: DEI has made society more racist
If there’s a buzzword that’s captured corporate Canada, government and academia over the past decade, it’s “diversity.” When patched together with “equity” and “inclusion,” or DEI for short, it’s assumed to be excellent policy that’s anchored in fairness and equality. For its proponents, it is seen as an extension of civil rights movements that began in the 1950s in Canada and the United States.
But nice-sounding words are not enough when it comes to treating people as equal in law and policy, or building a flourishing country with equal opportunity for all.
Jamie Sarkonak: Bird conservation — the latest field to take up race-based hiring

In Quebec, government-sponsored racial discrimination is totally OK — as long as it’s directed at white people.
That’s the conclusion of the province’s human rights tribunal last week, having examined the case of a bird conservation non-profit, QuébecOiseaux, which refused to consider applications from white people for a temporary position in 2021.
Canadian Armed Forces recruitment ad featuring all-white cast sparks debate over DEI policies

CALGARY — A new recruitment advertisement from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) featuring an all-white-male cast is drawing attention online.
While supporters are praising its tone, critics are questioning the message it’s sending after years of the military pushing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies.
