Ford’s electric F-150 Lightning pickup may be all but dead

America’s best-selling electric pickup may be headed for the chopping block. According to a new WSJ report, Ford is now considering killing off the F-150 Lightning.

After Ford halted production of the electric pickup at its Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan, earlier this year, it may never return to the assembly line.

Ford announced during its third-quarter earnings that F-150 Lightning production would remain paused after a fire at Novelis’ plant in New York disrupted aluminum supply.

DOBBIE: The “transformative” budget

One thing the Carney Liberals are masters of is spin. They have been proclaiming the wonders of their very late budget for weeks and have managed to turn water into wine for many Canadians — not the least of which was a Tory backbencher who defected to the other side on budget day.

Apparently, they had been working on this fellow for years, trying to convince him to become a Liberal, and it finally took when he became disgruntled over not being made a deputy speaker — or something like that. They also brought in the heavy artillery, and Carney himself persuaded him. Whatever the details, he walked.

How do two privileged New Jersey teens get seduced by ISIS?

Milo Sedarat Deprived Yute

Two teenagers from one of New Jersey’s wealthiest suburbs were arrested this week for allegedly plotting to join ISIS and carry out mass killings of Jews.

According to federal prosecutors, Tomas Kaan Jimenez-Guzel and Milo Sedarat, both 19, both from Montclair, had stockpiled weapons, posed with an ISIS flag, and fantasized online about attacks on Jewish communities.

Sedarat, the son of a well-known poet, reportedly said he wanted to “execute 500 Jews” and “mow down” pro-Israel marchers in his hometown.

What Happens to the Conservative Party Without Pierre Poilievre? Canadians Weigh In on Potential Leadership Alternatives

Leadership hypotheticals are always speculative, but they’re not pointless. Political leadership is about more than brand management or media presence, it’s the centre of the coalition, the public face of a movement, and often the determining factor in voting behaviour.

That’s why we conducted a survey of 2,922 Canadian adults between October 24 and 29, 2025, for the Toronto Star, exploring what might happen if Pierre Poilievre were no longer leading the federal Conservative Party. Would voters be more or less inclined to support the party? Are there other Conservative figures who might perform better in an election? And what does all this say about the shape and limits of the Conservative coalition today?

Actor Billy Bob Thornton is sick and tired of his fellow actors pushing their political positions onto fans at awards shows.

Appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Thornton advised celebrities to just “accept your little award and fuck off.”

Thornton, 70, recalled how British comedian Rickey Gervais spent much of his time at the 2020 Golden Globes roasting the celebrities.

BBC director-general & corporation’s news chief resign after row over Panorama’s misleading editing of Donald Trump speech

The BBC’s director-general Tim Davie has resigned amid a row over the doctoring of a Donald Trump speech for a Panorama episode.

The corporation’s CEO of News, Deborah Turness, has also resigned following criticism that the BBC documentary misled viewers.

In a statement, Mr Davie said: ‘There have been some mistakes made and as director general I have to take ultimate responsibility.’

Wow how odd to see accountability.

Adam Zivo: Carney’s budget falls short on housing

The new federal budget makes it clear that Prime Minister Mark Carney is unprepared to tackle the national housing crisis. His proposed measures are half-hearted at best and fail to adequately address the overregulation throttling construction of new supply.

Canada has chronically built too little housing to meet burgeoning demand, which, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), has led to a national shortage of approximately 2.6 million units. This is the primary reason why the inflation-adjusted price of an average Canadian home has doubled since the early 2000s — there are simply too many people bidding on scarce inventory.

The Heritage Foundation’s Meltdown

… What are the main issues in play? The one that has gotten the most ink concerns the recent recrudescence of antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment on the right. The two are not synonymous, as Kevin Roberts was at pains to point out in his initial video. But the phenomena overlap and nurture each other.

Another issue, and the one I wish to focus on here, is what I think of as the play behind the play in the attack on Kevin Roberts. John Daniel Davidson, writing in The Federalist, summed up the plot of that supervening play in the subhead to a recent column: “Genuine concern about antisemitism on the right is being hijacked by neocons to attack J. D. Vance in hopes of retaking control of the GOP.”

That is the nub of the matter.

Is it too soon to say the truth about Dick Cheney?

KLEIN: $871,000 in expenses for just seven indigenous leaders, Indigenous whistleblowers demand to see the books

If I had been the one to raise these questions, the cancel culture crowd would already be in full attack mode. But they can’t dismiss what’s happening now, because it’s not outsiders doing the talking. It’s Indigenous people themselves, standing up and demanding to know where the money has gone and why their communities are still struggling. Their voices are brave, their questions fair, and their message simple: the truth has to matter more than politics.

Xavier, twist tie and my chair

This is Xavier’s favourite toy, yes a twist tie.

He has played with it every day for weeks always with the same goal.

He deliberately bats it under the garbage can so he has reason to reach into the unknown and pluck it out again.

Except he isn’t always successful retrieving it.

That’s when he sits watch beside the can and meows plaintively until I am forced to rescue his twist tie.

No lie I have done this 10’s of times for him.

Ostriches Executed for No Good Reason

On Friday, “professional marksmen” in Canada gunned down almost 400 ostriches. Birds that were clearly disease free; just more victims of the Canadian government’s totalitarian overreach. Deja vu- “the truckers rally.”

As most of you know, Robert and I have a soft spot for ratites, which is the family of flightless birds that lack a sternal keel (as did dinosaurs) that ostriches belong to. In fact, our pet emu is another member of that ancient lineage of birds. There are only five groups of ratites left in the world (ostriches, emus, kiwis, cassowaries, and Rheas). They have a special place in the animal kingdom. Ratites may be the closest living relatives to the dinosaurs and truly are fascinating.

How Trump could hamper Zohran Mamdani’s New York agenda

Just moments after Zohran Mamdani won his battle to become the next mayor of New York City, the rising political star zeroed in on his next fight: taking on the president of the United States.

In his victory speech on Tuesday, Mamdani turned to the cameras to directly taunt the president: “So Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up,” he said.

Minutes later, Trump responded on his social media site Truth Social: “…AND SO IT BEGINS!”
