Jamie Sarkonak: The wokification of Canada’s museums

Museums are Canada’s greatest stewards of public history. But in the past decade, increasingly overbearing cultural policies have rewritten their mandates. Once dedicated to simply telling the truth, they now have an agenda to push.

It’s subtle, but a lot of museums are open about it nevertheless. The federal Canadian Museum of History’s diversity, equity and inclusion plan states that it will “allocate resources strategically to bridge gaps” to “ensure better representation of equity-deserving groups.” Calgary’s Glenbow Museum announced its new land acknowledgement in September: “Blackfoot land, your territory.”

Candace Owens’ wild claim the French government is planning to assassinate her amid Macron defamation fight

Candace Owens has wildly claimed that the French government is plotting to kill her after she was sued by Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron.

The provocateur, who has become increasingly conspiratorial, took to X early Saturday to push an unfounded claim that the French president and first lady have orchestrated and funded an assassination plot against her — while also supposedly threatening French journalist Xavier Poussard.

Going Batshit Crazy must be lucrative.

Christian mothers beheaded while nursing babies? The West yawns

The Western silence weighs more than the stones covering the nameless graves of the innocent.

It feels like reading the intrepid Soviet writer and journalist Vassily Grossman, who, after the Red Army reconquered Kyiv from the Nazis, described what he saw the German forces had done.

“Two-year-old children massacred… Eighty-year-olds massacred, their eyes clouded by cataracts, with cold, transparent fingers and nearly imperceptible voices… Newborns massacred while they greedily suckled their mothers’ breasts until the last minute.”

Majority of Canadians say ‘not worth’ hosting World Cup matches if costs exceed revenue

A new poll conducted by the Angus Reid Institute has found that a majority of Canadians believe it’s not worth hosting FIFA World Cup matches if revenue doesn’t exceed costs.

Vancouver and Toronto are set to welcome teams and fans from around the globe for a number of games next summer.

You know who covers World Cup losses in Toronto? The taxpayer.

This is just one more way elites prey on the great unwashed in Canada.

Mark Carney has a decision to make that will cost billions. Worse, he has no good options, and time is running out

Canada‘s existing fleet of fighter jets is overdue for replacement. The CF-18s have been operating continuously since the early 1980s, longer than most of their pilots have been alive. The basic existing design of the fighter is even older than that.

They should have been replaced long ago. This was supposedly a priority for the Harper government. In theory, it was a priority for the Trudeau government, too. Now it’s a problem for the Carney government.

‘The public has been lied to’: secretly made documentary insists that aliens exist

Director Dan Farah grew up with aliens. As a child of the 80s and 90s, pop culture was awash with extra-terrestrial sightings. “How can you be a kid watching movies like ET and Close Encounters, TV shows like The X Files, and not end up curious about whether or not we’re alone in the universe?” he said in an interview with the Guardian. “And whether or not the US government does, in fact, hold secrets from the public.”

Farah’s exposure to otherworldly beings in fiction kickstarted an interest that’s now morphed into a professional quest, and the subject of his documentary debut The Age of Disclosure. Here, Farah makes the case that the United States has been hiding, for decades, a font of information related to UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) – the acronym rebrand of the stigma-ridden UFO.

Trailer – this is now playing on Prime but at 25 bucks a pop I can wait.

David Grusch interview – He now claims to have ‘read intelligence reports and viewed photo’s of aliens. No hard proof offered.

CHARLEBOIS: Canadians aren’t just shopping differently – they’re surviving differently

Canada’s relationship with food is shifting in ways that should concern all of us.

The latest Canadian Food Sentiment Index: Fall 2025, produced by the Agri-Food Analytics Lab at Dalhousie University in partnership with Caddle, reveals a population still grappling with affordability pressures, changing habits, and diminishing trust in the food system.

Late-term abortions are being performed in Canada without a serious medical reason

In 2013, former longtime Liberal MP Dr. Carolyn Bennett, in a terse letter to the National Post, said no doctor in Canada can terminate a pregnancy after 24 weeks unless the mother’s life is at risk or the fetus has serious complications.

“The assertion that late-term abortions can be performed ‘for any reason, or no reason at all’ is just not true,” wrote Bennett, who challenged a columnist to find a single late-term abortion performed in Canada “to a healthy mother with a healthy fetus.”

It’s Time to Close Religious Arbitration Centers and Outlaw Sharia for Good

The cornerstone of the American project is the principle of justice administered under the Rule of Law.

Our civic allegiance is not to a monarch, a tribal leader, a church canon, or any specific religious doctrine, but to the Constitution and the rich legal system that flows from the Western tradition.

This essential truth has been under threat from an abhorrent and highly destructive development, which has been exacerbated in recent decades by the challenges of mass migration and failed assimilation policies: the proliferation of private religious arbitration centers, most commonly known as Sharia Councils.

Bank of Canada will regulate a Canadian ‘stablecoin.’ But just how stable will it be?

Canada is moving with what could be called urgent caution as stablecoin goes mainstream.

Stablecoin is a type of cryptocurrency, or digital dollar, which has stability as perhaps its greatest asset. Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies are notoriously volatile.

Stablecoin, by contrast, is backed by real assets — cash or high-quality liquid assets — and is pegged one-to-one to a currency or commodity, often the U.S. dollar, the world’s reserve currency.

It will be just stable enough for the Laurentian elites to profit handsomely before it crashes and the tax payers are left holding the bag.

Iran Is Building a Missile Empire, the World Looks Away

Little attention is being paid to Iran in the aftermath of the 12‑Day War, but the threat it now poses is growing significantly. While global focus has shifted to other crises, Iran has rapidly and aggressively been accelerating its ballistic missile production at the speed of light. The Iranian regime is proudly announcing its manufacture of vast quantities of missiles, expanding assembly lines, and is openly boasting about its growing arsenal. Iran is not concealing these developments; it is bragging about them. The regime, despite a crippling drought, appears to feel emboldened, empowered, and determined.

Former accomplice of Ryan Wedding turned against him this year, court documents reveal

Another one of fugitive Ryan Wedding’s former accomplices has turned against him, CBC News has learned.

Records filed in Ontario Superior Court reveal the FBI secured the help of a new informant this year who had “trafficked drugs with Wedding and assisted Wedding with committing multiple murders.”

Ten people were arrested this week as part of an FBI investigation into an alleged drug trafficking organization that Wedding is said to head. He remains at large.
