Our campuses are corrupt — and higher education is due for its comeuppance

One industry in America pumps out toxic waste day and night, but suffers no penalty for the damage it causes.

It operates at enormous public and private expense, sucking up hundreds of billions of dollars in government money.

Its toxic bilge poisons much of society, but those who complain about it are often dismissed as ignorant or bigoted.

Its product is largely free of state and federal regulation.

SHAW: Canada isn’t governed by voters anymore — it’s governed by institutions

SHAW: Canada isn’t governed by voters anymore — it’s governed by institutions

It is often taken for granted that Canada is a democracy. Between the constant invocation of “our democratic institutions” by both government and opposition, Canadians are encouraged to believe that public policy ultimately reflects the will of the electorate. What this assumption ignores is the increasingly obvious reality that Canadian politics is shaped less by citizens than it is by organized institutional interests.

Millionaire ‘Lilo’ Star Died Homeless—Progressive Compassion Is the Problem

Millionaire ‘Lilo’ Star Died Homeless—Progressive Compassion Is the Problem

A 35-year-old woman was found wasting away to skin and bones on Los Angeles’ Skid Row, barely conscious on the floor of a fetid tent, nodding in and out amid the fentanyl haze. She died on June 17, 2026, in a hospital bed of meningitis and sepsis triggered by terminal malnutrition. Her body surrendered.

The woman was Daveigh Chase, the voice of Disney’s beloved Lilo in “Lilo & Stitch,” and the nightmare Samara crawling from the well in “The Ring.” She had millions in unclaimed residuals from her child stardom sitting untouched in accounts because she was “too far gone” on heroin and fentanyl.

Starmer is ready to resign, say allies

Allies of Sir Keir Starmer believe he is preparing to step down after facing an evaporation of support over the weekend.

A senior government figure told The Telegraph the embattled Prime Minister was realising that the “game is up” and his thoughts were turning to how he could “shore up his legacy”.

They said there had been “quite a bit of movement” among Cabinet ministers since Andy Burnham’s Makerfield by-election victory, leading Sir Keir to reconsider his previous commitment to soldiering on.

A Nest of Vipers: G7 Summit and the United States

A Nest of Vipers: G7 Summit and the United States

The G7 Summit, held June 15-17, 2026, in Évian-les-Bains, France, brought together European leaders and President Trump in what looked like one big, happy family. Warm handshakes, smiles all around, and a generally positive atmosphere filled the room at the French lakeside resort. Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy showed up too, predictably pleading once again for more American money and weapons, apparently still hoping for the kind of open-ended blank check that defined the Biden years.

TDS has been globalized.

2 Million Draft dodgers in Ukraine do what they must to avoid the front lines

2 Million Draft dodgers in Ukraine do what they must to avoid the front lines

Volodymyr was out jogging around the lake near his home, as he did almost every morning, when he noticed a van slowly driving alongside him. He immediately understood what was going on. It was the summer of 2024, and the Ukrainian military was in the middle of a conscription drive. Volodymyr was a man of service age but wasn’t wearing a uniform. He sped up, and so did the van.

The fit, broad-shouldered 31-year-old escaped from the men he suspected were conscription officers by cutting through a park. But afterward, he stopped going for his morning jog.

The article quotes Ukraine Defence Minister Mikhailo Fedorov’s stating that there are 2 million draft evaders in Ukraine.

Some perspective.

“An estimated 570,000 men were classified as draft offenders during the Vietnam War era, with approximately 210,000 formally accused of draft violations and another 100,000+ deserting the military. Among these resisters, between 30,000 and 50,000 fled to Canada to avoid conscription.”

I feel like Country Joe: Well it’s 1,2,3 why are we funding this war? Heck you know I don’t give a damn it’s the latest version of the Afghan scam.

Canada is not a wealthy nation. We have done our share. This is Europe’s conflict to bear not ours.

On the upside Carney is ingratiating himself with the EU via our tax dollars. All the better for Brookfield.

Spy agency quashed complaint against Fauci for lying to Congress about ‘gain of function’ research, new documents show

ASHINGTON — Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released a trove of files Friday detailing Dr. Anthony Fauci’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic — showing that officials protected him from a whistleblower complaint alleging he lied to Congress about “gain of function” research after he suggested pangolins were to blame for the outbreak that killed millions.

Fauci, the documents show, met with a group of CIA officials on June 4, 2021, weeks after his fiery May 11 denial to Congress that he funded risky research into coronaviruses in the same Chinese city where the pandemic began.

Of course Canada is not ready for MAID for mental illness. We probably won’t ever be

Of course Canada is not ready for MAID for mental illness. We probably won’t ever be

We have some confusing notions of autonomy in this country when it comes to issues around medical assistance in dying (MAID). Some are of the view that people should be allowed to do what they want with their bodies no matter what, and that the state should have little to no role in decisions of life and death. But there is an important difference between letting people do what they want to themselves, and allowing some people to euthanize others who may be in a vulnerable state. It is not paternalistic to try to protect those people, and for the state to err on the side of life where there are questions of capacity, coercion and consent for an act for which there is no going back.

‘Deal’?: Iran’s IRGC Regime and Terror Proxies Celebrate

As the Trump Administration undoubtedly knows, the Iranian regime cannot be trusted with any agreement.

Time and again, Iran’s regime has signed or verbally committed to deals — on nuclear issues, regional de-escalation, or economic promises — only to pursue its own agenda in secret. Whether enriching uranium covertly, supporting terrorist proxies, or advancing its ideological goals, the regime says or signs whatever is necessary to secure relief, then goes about doing whatever it wants. Its pattern of deceit and evading commitments is by now legendary

Human rights museum readies opening of Palestinian exhibit amid criticism

WINNIPEG — The Canadian Museum for Human Rights says an exhibit about displaced Palestinians is to go ahead as planned, despite criticism that it’s a potentially one-sided story.

The exhibit, opening June 27, focuses on people affected by the Nakba, Arabic for catastrophe, when about 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced in 1948 during fighting over control of what is now Israel.

My Nazi lover: Inside the SPLC’s anti-hate racket

My Nazi lover: Inside the SPLC’s anti-hate racket

As if the Southern Poverty Law Center wasn’t already looking like a menace instead of a respected civil-rights outfit, now comes evidence that one of its top execs was sending donor cash to the white supremacist she was shacked up with.

To be fair, it’s long been obvious that the SPLC is a racket exploiting liberals (especially in the media) desperate for right-wing threats to condemn; the nonprofit raked in billions over the decades to support its (shoddy) research, including a “hate map” and database on supposed hate groups.

The SPLC’s new head honcho is big big big on “reparations”.

Networks Skip Foiled UFC Drone Terrorist Being an Illegal Immigrant

On Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security released a statement that claimed the alleged ringleader of the foiled terrorist attack on the UFC fight at the White House the previous Sunday is an illegal immigrant. Since then, ABC’s Good Morning America and World News Tonight, NBC’s Nightly News and Today, and CBS’s Evening News and CBS Mornings have not disclosed this new information to the viewers of their morning and evening newscasts. By contrast, the networks have continued to obsess over the latest setbacks in President Trump’s efforts to renovate the reflecting pool on the National Mall by spending 13 minutes and 18 seconds on the subject.
