UPDATE: According to information obtained by SPIEGEL, the attack in Stade was a “crime of passion,” with personal connections to the youth facility. Based on the current state of the investigation, no political or extremist motive has been identified.
Six adults were killed in a shooting at a youth care facility in Stade, Lower Saxony, according to the Lüneburg police headquarters . Five people died at the scene, and a sixth succumbed to their injuries in hospital. Several other people were also injured, some seriously, police said. Details about the victims are not yet available.

In two previous tournaments, we lost all six games we played and only managed to put the ball in the opposing net twice. Clearly a tie with Bosnia was a massive improvement. The CBC reported that it “should be a point of pride for Canada … a huge confidence booster for the co-hosts.”

Poll finds widening financial divide as struggling Canadians fall further behind
A growing gap is emerging between financially secure Canadians benefiting from rising asset values and those struggling to keep up with everyday expenses, according to a new Angus Reid Institute survey.
The poll found 70% of Canadians describe their household finances as either “good” or “very good,” but more than one-quarter (27%) say they are in poor or very poor financial condition.
