Marjorie Taylor Greene Proposes Trading Democrats for Canadian Guns
Republican U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has denounced Canada’s proposed ban on handguns, while offering to trade Democrats for the Canadian government’s “unwanted” guns.
In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Greene blasted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s proposed ban, which was announced on Monday. The Georgia Republican said that her disapproval of the proposal had led “Democrat blue check marks & blueanons” on Twitter to discuss a U.S. annex of “defenseless Canada” because they were in favor of “Trudeau’s wokeness & tyrannical dictatorship.”
Liberals End Debate On The Online News Act
Bill C-18 – the Online News Act – will no longer be debated.
The Liberals – along with the support of the NDP – voted to end debate on the legislation.
As noted by Michael Geist, this means that the Liberal heritage minister – in charge of pushing the legislation – spent more time debating the end of debate on C-18 than he did debating the legislation itself.
A reminder (since Trudeau apparently forgot) that Canadian gun law is already way stricter than the U.S.

Canada’s Top Judge Spoke Bias Against Trucker Convoy, Lawyers Say
Thirteen lawyers have sent a complaint letter to the Canadian Judicial Council (CJC) about comments made by Supreme Court of Canada Chief Justice Richard Wagner regarding the trucker convoy that staged large-scale protests against COVID-19 mandates in downtown Ottawa earlier this year.
The seven-page letter quotes a full page of excerpts from an April 9 Le Devoir article in which Wager said the convoy was “the beginning of anarchy where some people have decide to take other citizens hostage, to take the law into their own hands, not to respect the mechanism. … That, I find that worrying.”
Wagner characterized the convoy protests as a “circumstance that could undermine our principles such as judicial independence, the rule of law, institutions.” He said the protests included people of “good faith” but also others who were “remotely guided” with “misunderstanding” and “a certain ignorance” of the rule of law, and who were seeking to bypass the political “system.”
Nova Scotia man known online as ‘Raging Dissident’ faces 13 firearms-related charges
PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. – A 36-year-old Nova Scotia man charged following an anti-mask protest outside the home of the province’s chief medical officer is facing 13 firearms-related charges in an unrelated incident.
During a brief court hearing in Port Hawkesbury, N.S., it was decided Jeremy Mitchell MacKenzie will be arraigned on 12 firearms charges in Pictou, N.S., on June 6, and on the remaining charge on June 27 in Port Hawkesbury.
RCMP officers in January searched MacKenzie’s Pictou home and allegedly found five restricted firearms, prohibited magazines, body armour and ammunition.

On February 2nd, 2022, Erin O’Toole was removed as Conservative Party leader by a vote of 73-45. On September 10th, 2022, the party will appointed his successor. Over seven months will have lapsed between the dates.
CAP has always wondered why such a long period of time was selected before choosing a new party leader. After witnessing media treatment of potential candidates, we have drawn a conclusion.
The purpose is to ruin the chances of Pierre Poilievre winning the nomination. Far ahead in the polls, Mr. Poilievre is the “people’s choice.” That’s fine, but the candidate has a huge problem on his hands. By undermining the Liberal status quo, Poilievre has made enemies of those who control Canadian politics.
