A Michigan judge has ruled in favour of Enbridge Inc. in its long-standing dispute with the state over the Line 5 cross-border pipeline.
In her ruling on Thursday, Judge Janet Neff said the case belongs in federal court — a blow to Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s bid to shut down the pipeline.
It’s the second time in nine months that Neff has sided with Enbridge on the question of jurisdiction.

Veterans Affairs says worker ‘inappropriately’ discussed medically assisted death with veteran
A Canadian Forces veteran seeking treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and a traumatic brain injury was shocked when he was unexpectedly and casually offered medical assistance in dying by a Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) employee, sources tell Global News.
Sources say a VAC service agent brought up medical assistance in dying, or MAID, unprompted in the conversation with the veteran. Global News is not identifying the veteran who was seeking treatment.

A senior official at Transport Canada expressed doubts about the rationale for a vaccine mandate for transportation 13 days before it came into force, and had asked Health Canada for more data to justify the policy, internal emails reveal.

OTTAWA – The House of Commons Public Safety and National Security Committee is set to meet today to discuss allegations of political interference in the 2020 mass shooting in Nova Scotia.

Canadian hydrogen deal won’t immediately solve Germany’s energy woes: experts
Some energy experts warn a deal to sell Canadian hydrogen to Germany will serve as only a small, far-off and expensive part of the solution to Europe’s energy crisis.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are set to sign a hydrogen agreement in Stephenville, N.L. next week, during Scholz’s official visit to Canada.
Trudeau and Scholz won’t do anything to derail the green-scam agenda.

Canadians are calling on the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to end the domination of Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX: RCI.B), BCE Inc (TSX: BCE) and Telus Corporation (TSX: T) over the country’s telecommunications industry.
The campaign, in the form of a Change.org petition started by Nicole Goodmurphy-McCallum, has gathered over 60,300 signatures so far.
This was triggered by a series of recent events that stress the glaring need for telecom competition in the country: first was the proposed merger between Rogers and Shaw Communications (TSX: SJR.B), exacerbated by the massive, 19-hour Canada-wide Rogers outage last month, and then most recently, Telus’ request to charge a 1.5% credit card processing fee on all customer bill payments.
At no point does it seem to have occurred to anyone that giving the government strong financial incentive to want you dead was a bad idea.
Long-time news anchor and journalist Lisa LaFlamme is speaking out after what she called a “sudden” decision by Bell Media to end her contract with CTV National News.
“On June 29, I was informed that Bell Media made a ‘business decision’ to end my contract, bringing to a sudden close my long career with CTV News,” said LaFlamme in a video posted on social media Monday afternoon.
