Trump offers immediate tariff relief to Canadian aluminum and steel companies that commit to U.S. expansion

The Trump administration is now offering Canadian and Mexican aluminum and steel companies immediate tariff relief if they commit to moving production to the United States in the future.

The U.S published the notice on Thursday during a tense week that saw both American and Canadian officials publicly air their grievances.

“It’s a very aggressive tactic by the United States,” said international trade lawyer William Pellerin. “This really reinforces the approach that we’ve seen from the United States for a while now, which is simply: We win if you lose.”

SPLC and Pravda: a Match Made in Heaven

SPLC and Pravda: a Match Made in Heaven

It’s worth noting that the SPLC is getting a full-court defense from Pravda for a reason: the driving narrative about Donald Trump, political violence, and the need for a censorship infrastructure in the United States is largely buttressed by references to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “Hate Map.”

All the major news organizations rely heavily on the SPLC to tell them whom to slander; the US government partnered with the SPLC to determine whom to investigate; social media companies turned to the SPLC for advice on whom to censor; and public school curricula are designed around SPLC talking points.

DHS Hooks an Illegal Alien Somali Pirate

DHS Hooks an Illegal Alien Somali Pirate

Said Jama Ahmed might not be walking the plank, but the Somali pirate definitely needs to be shipped out of our country.

Ahmed, in fact, has a history with the U.S. military and federal immigration enforcement, as the Navy caught him committing piracy in the Gulf of Aden back in 2012, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) later caught him here in 2024 after he illegally entered our country. It appears authorities removed him, but he returned to try to enter America from the north instead of the south. Apparently, piracy wasn’t the lucrative profession he thought it would be, so he decided to sneak into our country and rob American taxpayers instead.

Expect Trump to try to punish Canada for not bending the knee

Expect Trump to try to punish Canada for not bending the knee

We’ve been warned for months that Canada faces exceedingly tough talks on renewing the CUSMA/USMCA trade deal. With Donald Trump blowing off the importance of Canada (“we don’t need anything they have”), it was shaping up as a cage match at the negotiating table.

As of this week, though, we face the very real possibility of an even more ominous prospect as the July 1 date for agreement or not-agreement on re-upping CUSMA approaches: no talks at all.

Imams in West Portray Khamenei as Victim, U.S. as Perpetrator

In the wake of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death as the result of joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes against Tehran on February 28, 2026, various Shia Islamist institutions and figures in Western countries have issued statements of mourning that frame his death as an act of “martyrdom” and express solidarity with the Islamic Republic—even after U.S. troops were attacked, and in some instances, killed by Iranian ordnance. Such responses, often from registered charities, student groups, and community centers, portray Khamenei—who led a brutal regime that has murdered tens of thousands of its own citizens—as a victim and the United States as under the control of the Jews.

Dutch YouTube creators behind Alberta separatist videos getting millions of views

People based in the Netherlands are behind several YouTube channels that promote Alberta separatism but are fronted by hired actors, according to an investigation by CBC News’s visual investigations team and Radio-Canada’s Décrypteurs.

CBC News identified three individuals in the Netherlands whose digital trail links them to accounts that hired actors to appear on the YouTube channels. Two of them attended the same online course that teaches customers how to create “faceless” YouTube channels that generate passive income for the creators, who remain in the shadows.

Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff trip cancellation a sign of how far apart the sides are

Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff trip cancellation a sign of how far apart the sides are

There had been little hope for any diplomatic breakthroughs this weekend. Now, what little there was is gone entirely.

The proposed US delegation, led by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, already lacked the weight of the vice-president. JD Vance was “on standby”, but was not going to be initially involved.

The fact that even the lower-level team have now cancelled their trip is a sign of how far apart the sides are.

Before it was the clerics: now the generals rule in Iran

Hours before a two-week ceasefire with Iran was set to end this week, President Trump announced its extension, claiming a power struggle in Tehran was impeding its ability to negotiate.

Pakistan had requested the extension, he claimed on Truth Social, “based on the fact that the government of Iran is seriously fractured”. An anonymous American official put it more bluntly to an Israeli journalist for Axios. Trump was giving the Iranians a few more days “to get their shit together”, the official said.

Carson Jerema: Erin O’Toole’s plan for permanent Liberal government

Prime Minister Mark Carney has baffled Conservatives. This can be seen in the party’s failure to update a strategy that was targeted towards Justin Trudeau’s obnoxiously progressive tenure in office. Whether they like it or not, Carney is not Trudeau. All this approach has accomplished has been to permit the current prime minister to remain high in the polls by simply being a different person than Trudeau, who had become so broadly unpopular that anyone displaying a modicum of competence would have succeeded with voters.

Court defers deportation of mass murderer truck driver who caused Humboldt Broncos bus crash

Days from being deported, an 11th-hour decision by a Federal Court justice on Friday means that Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, who was found responsible for the fatal Humboldt Broncos bus crash in 2018, can stay in Canada for a little while longer.

Sidhu was behind the wheel of the semi-truck that blew through an oversized stop sign with a flashing yellow light, right into the path of the Saskatchewan junior hockey team’s bus, on April 6, 2018. The collision killed 16 players and staff and injured 13 others.

He was scheduled to be deported and board a plane for India early Monday morning.

Christian pastor is arrested for ‘criticising Islam’ while preaching in Watford town centre

A Christian pastor was arrested for allegedly criticising Islam while preaching on a high street – before a police officer told him: ‘In the name of Jesus, get in the car.’

Steve Maile, 66, had been speaking to the public in Watford about his thoughts on violence within Islam when discussing whether the faith was a religion of peace.

The Oasis City Church pastor, who is a married father-of-four and grandfather, was also singing Christian hymns and songs in the busy shopping area on Saturday.
