You too can be Grey Owl! Outrage brewing after U of S and CIHR support professor who falsely claimed to be Indigenous

“On the question of Dr. Bourassa’s identity, we recognize that Indigenous identity is complex, multifaceted and deeply personal and we support Indigenous self-identification.”

The University of Saskatchewan and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) continue to stand by Carrie Bourassa, despite a CBC investigation that shows her claims to Indigenous ancestry are spurious.

For years, the U of S professor, who also serves as the scientific director of the Indigenous arm of the CIHR, has claimed to be Métis, Anishnaabe and Tlingit. However, investigations by Indigenous scholars and the CBC found there’s no evidence of that.

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau unlikely to be PM when his climate promises come due

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will don the mantle of a global warming crusader at a massive United Nations conference on climate change starting in Glasgow, Scotland, on Monday.

He signalled that at the wind-up to a G20 meeting in Rome, Italy, Sunday — a lead-in to the Glasgow summit — which produced a wishy-washy final statement on climate change that will not satisfy anyone who believes it is the existential crisis of our time.

US-trained Afghan soldiers & spies joining ISIS terrorists to ‘resist’ Taliban – reports

The Taliban has long accused Washington of funding ISIS, and now they’re indirectly right, as a growing number of US-trained Afghan soldiers and intelligence officials are joining the terrorist group’s ranks to fight the Taliban.

The US spent a staggering $88 billion arming and training Afghanistan’s military, only for Afghan forces to crumble before the Taliban’s lightning fast reconquest of the country in August. Though the Taliban have promised amnesty to these personnel, stories of violent reprisals have circulated, and according to the Wall Street Journal, a “relatively small, but growing” number of former Afghan soldiers and spies are flocking to the only outfit currently resisting Taliban rule – Islamic State terrorist group.

WARMINGTON: Shooting up of a Toronto Police station could have been ‘worse’

It’s not lost on Toronto Police that while officers were dodging gunshots in 55 Division’s sub-station in East York the service also actually did dodge a bullet.

“I attended the unit and spoke with the officers who were working in the area of the building that was struck by gunfire,” said Toronto Police Association President Jon Reid. “All were very concerned about the shooting and realize it could have been far worse.”

Ontario reports 422 new Covid cases … and global death toll tops 5 million in under 2 years

Ontario reports 422 new Covid cases … and global death toll tops 5 million in under 2 years

Ontario is reporting more than 400 new COVID-19 cases today as the daily case count jumps by about 100 additional cases week-over-week.

Provincial health officials are reporting 422 new COVID-19 infections today, a significant increase from the 326 cases confirmed last Monday.

COVID-19′s global death toll tops 5 million in under 2 years

The global death toll from COVID-19 topped 5 million on Monday, less than two years into a crisis that has not only devastated poor countries but also humbled wealthy ones with first-rate health care systems.

Together, the United States, the European Union, Britain and Brazil — all upper-middle- or high-income countries — account for one-eighth of the world’s population but nearly half of all reported deaths. The U.S. alone has recorded over 745,000 lives lost, more than any other nation.

“This is a defining moment in our lifetime,” said Dr. Albert Ko, an infectious disease specialist at the Yale School of Public Health. “What do we have to do to protect ourselves so we don’t get to another 5 million?”

Watchdog: State Dept. sought ‘wholesale’ redactions of Afghanistan reports

The State Department sought to redact “wholesale” public reports by the U.S. inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction during the Biden administration’s chaotic withdrawal from Kabul, the watchdog said Friday.

Special Inspector General John Sopko said the State Department requested on Aug. 19 that his office remove 2,400 items from publicly available reports “based on unspecified privacy concerns.” The list included such information as the name of former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and a reference in one report to Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Mr. Sopko called the requests baffling but said his office nevertheless undertook a detailed review of the material that the administration wanted to be removed. He said all but four minor requests were found to be “baseless.”

Biden’s Haunted Halloween

The ghouls and goblins unleashed by Democrats are dancing on America’s grave.

Forget October 31st. It’s Halloween every day of the year now.

Thanks to the miscreant mutants who are running America into the ground, it’s Halloween at the border, in our major cities, in our schools and at state capitals 24/7.

Recently, a woman was raped on a South Philadelphia commuter train. None of the passengers tried to intervene. No one called 911.

Loudoun County and the cruelty of trans ideology

A girl was sexually assaulted at school, in the girls’ bathroom, by a boy in a skirt. The school covered it up.

Scott Smith is the father of a 15-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted in a school bathroom by a boy who was allegedly wearing a skirt. For speaking out and defending his daughter, Smith has been vilified by woke zealots who care more about pushing pro-transgender policies than the safety of children.

The details of Smith’s treatment make my blood boil, as it should anyone with an ounce of compassion and minimal sense of justice. The case has become a flashpoint in the culture war over schools. It could even influence the election for Virginia governor next Tuesday. Yet the major media have largely ignored the story, hoping no one will notice, because it raises serious questions about the trans ideology that is being forced on kids through their schools.

UK: White civil servants told to ‘confront their privilege’ with ‘woke’ reading list of books calling for abolition of police & prisons – and defending looting

Civil servants have been sent a reading list to help white staff ‘confront their privilege’ and admit their place ‘in a system of oppression’.

Employees have been advised to read titles such as White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard To Talk To White People About Racism to address their ‘ignorance’ of the topic.

Other books and articles on the list argue for the abolition of the police and prisons, and defend looting.

As Bodies and Tent Cities Pile Up, Antifa-Ravaged Portland Learns Tourists Are ‘Afraid’ of Their Utopia

Portland, Oregon is nearly dead last on the list of cities where tourists and conventioneers want to spend money and time. And it makes sense. Portland is circling the drain.

The leaderless city from which police are fleeing, where Antifa thugs are ascendant, and which people in nearby towns avoid, is dying before our eyes.

Biden’s Visit to the Vatican – The party of JFK now loves to talk politics with the pope.

In the days of John F. Kennedy, the Democrats emphasized their political distance from the pope. Kennedy promised Americans that he would never let the pope influence him on “matters of public policy.” How times have changed. Today’s Democrats boast of their political alliance with Pope Francis. They openly confer with him on matters of public policy, as evident in Joe Biden’s latest visit to the Vatican. After he met with the pope last Friday, Biden praised him for “fighting the climate crisis, as well as his advocacy to ensure the pandemic ends for everyone through vaccine sharing and an equitable global economic recovery.”
