The most consequential inequality in America is not the wealth gap or the wage gap. It may not be the racial opportunity gap. The marriage gap is wreaking havoc. And unfortunately, it’s the gap that gets the least attention.

Carney government eyes privatizing airports to attract investment, cut travel costs

OTTAWA—The federal Liberal government is looking at selling Canadian airports off to private owners saying it wants to streamline operations and passenger services, attract more business investment to Canada, and even direct possible proceeds into a national sovereign wealth fund.

The morning after the spring economic update hinted at the government’s plans, Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon downplayed the prospect of any swift moves to privatize.

He told reporters Wednesday “we’re in the early stages of a process with airport authorities and other partners to determine the best way forward.”

Given that those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it, the fact that Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne reported a drop in last year’s projected deficit from $78.3 billion to $66.9 billion — a decrease of $11.4 billion — in Tuesday’s spring economic statement should surprise no one.

Police recover stolen trailer containing cannabis products worth more than $2M, 5 of the usual suspects arrested

Five men have been charged after police recovered a stolen trailer containing cannabis products worth more than $2 million in Mississauga earlier this month.

York Regional Police (YRP) said the trailer was stolen from Niagara Region and was intended for delivery to numerous dispensaries.

Officers were in the area of McLaughlin Road and Highway 401 on April 15 when they discovered the stolen trailer, YRP said.

Ontario records largest unemployment rate increase in Canada

Ontario saw the largest unemployment rate increase in the country for the second year running, according to its financial watchdog, which also found that new jobs are still being created in the province.

A new report from the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario found job creation slowed in 2025, with 80,900 jobs created last year.

That figure is a drop from the year before and the slowest pace of job creation since 2015, excluding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Golders Green terrorist is Somalian Essa Suleiman who suffers “mental health issues” and is of course known to the counter-terror program

The BBC understands that the suspect being held after the Golders Green knife attack yesterday is 45-year-old Essa Suleiman from south-east London.

He was born in Somalia, but came to the UK as a child in the early 1990s. He came legally, and is now a British citizen.

The Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley previously said he had a “history of serious violence and mental health issues.”

So just a regular Muslim then.

How America can survive low immigration

… Conventional wisdom tells us that immigration is always good for the economy. But countries such as Britain and Germany have recently managed to combine historic levels of immigration with stagnant growth. The Econ 101 crowd may be sticking to a textbook that is badly out of date. But one point is clear: If you are going to slash the number of migrants, you need to make sure your existing population is working as hard as possible.

Canada is as bad as England or Germany. The Liberal party has lied about the economic benefit of mass immigration by focusing on GDP as opposed to GDP per capita which is a truer measure of a nation’s wealth.

The LPC like their Democrat counterparts criminally exploited Canada’s immigration policy to line their pockets and skew voter demographics in their favour.
