CBC – Montreal police say three people are dead after a shooting in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood: a police officer, a civilian and a suspect.

From Daily Mail

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) officer, who has not been named, was confirmed dead by the agency shortly after shots broke out around 11.30am in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood.

The unidentified suspect has been ‘neutralized’, police said.

Today’s Reason For Remigration: Ottawa cut therapy sessions for refugees to 10 hours per year. Now some of these spongers want more.

When the federal government introduced supplemental health copayments for asylum seekers and refugee claimants earlier this spring, it also quietly brought in a 10-hour yearly cap on mental health sessions for them, CBC News has learned.

Mental health practitioners have been lobbying for a reversal since, with limited success.

No cap previously existed, meaning both groups have lost a system of potentially unlimited mental health sessions, virtually overnight.

Vance explains Trump’s threats during negotiations as a response to Iran’s ‘trash talk’

Vice President JD Vance backed President Donald Trump’s online response to Iranian “trash talk” as the United States participates in peace negotiations in Lucerne, Switzerland.

As U.S. negotiators, led by Vance, participated in the Swiss peace talks with the Iranian delegation through Pakistani and Qatari intermediaries over the weekend, Trump kept up his Truth Social postings. Trump blasted the Iranian regime, declaring Iran “FINISHED” on Friday and saying on Sunday that the U.S. would “hit Iran very hard again” if its proxies didn’t stop “causing trouble” in Lebanon. Vance defended Trump’s rhetoric as a response to Iranian “trash talk,” after the Iranians threatened to walk out on negotiations.

Federal nuclear strategy aims to have 10 new large-scale reactors built in Canada

The federal government wants to dramatically scale up the use of nuclear power and the export of Canadian-owned reactor technology through a new strategy that sets a goal of increasing by more than 50 per cent the number of large-scale reactors in Canada.

In a policy document to be released on Monday by Energy Minister Tim Hodgson, and obtained by The Globe and Mail, the government positions nuclear power as a triple threat for Canada’s economy, energy transition and sovereignty.

10 nuclear reactors? In Canada? BS.

Thousands of migrants flee South Africa ahead of anti-foreigner ultimatum

The Malawians had decided to sleep rough in a crowded and stinking park because they were too scared to stay at home.

In recent weeks, armed young men had been going door-to-door at migrants’ homes and businesses in Durban, telling them to get out of South Africa by the end of the month.

As the deadline looms, many fear such threats herald a repeat of the murderous anti-foreigner violence that has erupted in the country before.

Where is the outcry from western open borders fanatics?

GOLDSTEIN: No accountability for record federal spending on Indigenous issues

When Federal Indigenous Services Minister Mandy Gull-Masty announced $4.6 billion in new funding to eliminate all long-term unsafe drinking water advisories on reserves, she refused to set a deadline for when that will happen.

“The deadline goal is not part of my narrative,” she told the Globe and Mail.

That’s the problem with the Liberals’ approach to Indigenous spending.

Police ‘guided’ the family of a hotel worker in ‘toning down’ their public statements after she was murdered by an asylum seeker – in case their words led to anti-immigration rioting.

Rhiannon Whyte, 27, was stabbed 23 times with a screwdriver by Sudanese national Deng Majek while waiting at a train station in October 2024.

Majek, 28, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison in January, then spent the night dancing and drinking in the car park of Park Inn Hotel in Bescot, Walsall, where Rhiannon worked.

The police will be a major cause of Britain’s coming anti-beheader riots.

Obama Presidential Center follows widely mocked ‘stolen land’ acknowledgment with Native American dance show

After officials kicked off the opening weekend of the Barack Obama Presidential Center with a widely mocked “land acknowledgment” — a nod to the political far left that believes the United States was built on “stolen land” — a traditional Native American dance show was featured during Saturday’s scheduled events.

The Black Hawk Performance Company is a Native American dance troupe based in the Chicago area, composed of dancers from several Indigenous tribes.

A Nigerian woman has managed to stave off deportation from Canada by arguing that she feared a powerful businessman in her homeland who wanted to make her his mistress.

Amina E-Osmund Ekpo was slated to report for removal from Canada earlier this week. But a Federal Court judge granted her an urgent stay Tuesday while the 47-year-old waits to see if another judge will grant a review of an immigration officer’s refusal to give Ekpo a pre-removal risk assessment (PRRA) — her last-ditch bid to stay in Canada.

When Hybrid Warfare Calls Itself a Religion

When Hybrid Warfare Calls Itself a Religion

In 2017, the Multinational Capability Development Campaign (MCDC), a consortium including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and the European Union, published a report titled *Understanding Hybrid Warfare*.

… An interesting question arises.

What happens when an entity employs many of the same methods but describes itself not as a state, movement, or military organization, but as a religion?

The question becomes particularly relevant when examining Islam’s own primary sources.

Poilievre slams federal-B.C. plan to buy vacant condos, calling it a ‘bailout’ for developers

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is slamming a plan by the federal and B.C. governments to buy vacant condo units in the province and turn them into affordable housing — a move he describes as a “bailout” that should be immediately cancelled.

“Where is your bailout?” Poilievre told reporters in Vancouver on Sunday afternoon. He further argued that Prime Minister Mark Carney “seems to have a bailout for anyone who’s part of the Liberal club of power brokers.”

On Thursday, Carney and B.C. Premier David Eby announced that over the next 10 years, the federal government would invest more than $5 billion in British Columbia’s local infrastructure through the Build Communities Strong Fund.

People can’ afford food but Carney’s breed of slime can always find an excuse for lavish Corporate welfare bail outs.

‘This is nuts’: The hard-fought race to build Canada’s next submarine fleet

‘This is nuts’: The hard-fought race to build Canada’s next submarine fleet

OTTAWA — From a massive ad blitz featuring Canadian broadcast icon Peter Mansbridge to a cabinet minister calling on shipbuilders to cough up a car plant, the brief race to replace Canada’s aging submarine fleet turned heads in more ways than one.

The unusually short competition to build the navy’s next submarine fleet seemed to focus on everything but the boats themselves — even though the two vessels in the running are, in some ways, very different.

At no point during the two-year-long procurement competition did the federal government ever really talk about the boats’ capabilities. The navy made it clear very early on that either model would do just fine.

My guess is Germany, more room for graft in Europe.

Thank you. Thank you. Walking up this street two years ago was the proudest moment of my life. A new Labour government. The first in 14 years. A page in our country’s history turned after years of disappointment and despair.

The chance to change the lives of millions of people for the better. That’s what I came into politics for. The journey to that point was not easy.
