After the Democratic primaries in New York last week, the Big Apple is looking a little more red. The Democratic Socialists of America, a rising faction within leftist politics, had a particularly good night.

Darializa Avila Chevalier, a radical’s radical in the DSA, unseated five-term incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat in the 13th Congressional District. Brad Lander beat incumbent Dan Goldman for the 10th District’s nomination, and DSA member Claire Valdez won the nomination for an open seat in the 7th District. Each also had the endorsement of Islamo-Marxist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Last year, I wrote on the “myth of magic soil,” an idea blithely trotted out by anti-American leftists — and even many on the more moderate of the political spectrum’s right wing — and hammered into the minds of citizens ad nauseam. According to the myth of magic soil, anyone can become an American just by coming to America. Doesn’t matter if you come from a high-trust Anglo-Saxon community steeped in Christian morality and born from the profound courage and towering thought of the Western tradition or if you crawled out of some impoverished, crime-ridden, backwards Third World Muslim country, the Left declares that you can be just as American as the man whose ancestors arrived on the Mayflower and whose family has served in the U.S. Armed Forces every generation since 1776.

US supreme court upholds birthright citizenship in blow to Trump agenda

The US supreme court has upheld birthright citizenship, which provides nearly all people born in the country with citizenship, ruling against a central piece of Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda.

“Children born in the United States to parents unlawfully or temporarily present are ‘subject to the jurisdiction’ of the United States and are citizens at birth under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Citizenship Clause,” the ruling says.

US homeland security secretary tells migrants to seek permanent status or leave

Migrants in the US on temporary protected status (TPS) should seek permanent residence or leave, Markwayne Mullin, Homeland Security secretary, said in the wake of last week’s supreme court decision that stripped humanitarian protections from hundreds of thousands of immigrants.

The remarks to CNN’s State of the Union program comes after a decision ⁠that could allow Donald Trump’s administration to deport Haitian and Syrian immigrants to home countries plagued by conflict and destitution.

“Either try to fill ‌out the paperwork and ‌be here underneath a permanent status, or we’ll help you get ‌back to your country,” Mullin said.

New Study: Immigration Caused 40% Of Your Rent Hikes Over 10 Years

mmigration accounts for as much as 40 percent of U.S. rent increases as the housing affordability crisis continues to plague millions of Americans, according to a forthcoming study shared exclusively with The Federalist.

The paper, “Immigration and Rent: A PUMA-Based Spatial Analysis,” will appear this fall in Cityscape magazine as part of a collection of works exploring the relationship between immigration and housing markets.

In the build-up to this summer’s Fifa World Cup, much of the attention was on the host cities and stadiums where the matches would be held. But after two weeks, something I never expected is happening: social media is flooded with feel-good videos of fans discovering the US that exists between skylines.

Some travellers were so struck by Costco and Walmart that they declared, “I’m in love with America.” As soon as a Norwegian man entered a Bass Pro Shop, he said, “Oh, gawd damn!” And when a Brit first laid eyes on a Buc-ee’s convenience store, restaurant, petrol station and supermarket wrapped in one he said, “This place is absolutely insane.”

The rhetoric between the two countries has only escalated since, with Trump accusing Italy of being an ungrateful ally.

Hegseth Slams NATO and Promises Review of US Military Involvement in Europe

On Thursday, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced in a meeting with NATO allies in Brussels that the Pentagon would begin a six-month review of U.S. military involvement in Europe. This review, he asserted, “will be designed to ensure that NATO is moving fast and irreversibly toward Europe leading, stepping up to take primary responsibility for the defence of Europe.”
