A teacher who sparked fury by showing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to pupils during a lesson about blasphemy is living in a ‘safe house’ with his wife and children because of fears they will be attacked.

More than six weeks after fleeing his home following angry demonstrations outside Batley Grammar School in West Yorkshire, the teacher and his family are still being given police protection. The threat to their safety is judged so severe that even their relatives have not been told where they are living.

At a meeting in a run-down cafe in London, Michael, now calling himself Mohammed, is in full flow.

An Irishman with a shining moon-face fringed by an orange beard, he exudes all the joy and intensity of the religious convert as he romanticises an ideology he barely comprehends.

Discovering that I am not only an Afghan but one just arrived from Afghanistan, he is delighted at the chance to commune with, as he sees it, another of the world’s most oppressed peoples.

He warms to his theme, exhorting me to return home to fight for the Taliban and liberate my country from the infidel. I’m used to this. I recently had a blazing row with some of my own extended family who whined on about how things were better under the Taliban, and how a woman’s honour was safer.

“Of course it has. The government in shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain is paralyzed with fear of its growing and restive Muslim communities, and is increasingly ready to throw Britain’s cherished principles away and embrace Sharia blasphemy laws in exchange for spurious promises of peace and security.”

Asian grooming gangs trafficked underage girls into Birmingham and abused them for decades despite being reported to police, according to one survivor.

Sarah, whose name has been changed to protect her identity, says she reported the names of her various abusers to Derbyshire Police in 2012.

But she says none of the offenders have ever been brought to justice in the same way similar gangs were in Telford and Rotherham.

A gang of six men was jailed in 2018 for a total of 101 years after sexually exploiting five vulnerable teenage girls in Rotherham between 1998 and 2005. The gang members – all Asian men from Sheffield and Rotherham – were convicted of offences including rape and indecent assault.
