How the Decolonization Movement Came to Canada

That the revolutionary Marxist concept of “decolonization” should apply to Canada, itself a former colony that gained independence with scarcely a drop of blood shed, had no legacy of slavery, and then developed as an independent nation without significant internal violence, might seem like quite a reach. But the idea gained a toehold here 50 years ago and, after remaining quiescent for decades, has metastasized into what we see today: a conviction that Canada’s political and social structures are inherently oppressive and racist and must be torn down.

In this second part of my three-part editorial series (Part 1 can be read here), I’ll explore how this happened.

Joe Oliver: A principled Canada would protect its Jews

… In Canada, as elsewhere, Israel’s enemies target it with unhinged ferocity. Too many decent people don’t recognize that this vilification is unjustified and one-sided because it’s been normalized by an accommodating establishment and mainstream media. Would that be the principled Canada that has demonized White people through DEI and CRT for the past decade?

Would that be the principled Canada of fake mass graves and burning churches?

Would that be the principled Canada that force marched us down the one way street of multiculturalism and diversity while denigrating our nation as founded on genocide?

Would that be the principled Canada whose elites have flooded the nation with incompatible immigrant cultures yet demands that we bigots learn to be tolerant?

Would that be the principled Canada that declares White supremacism a major threat while allowing multiple imported ethnic conflicts to be fought out in our streets?

Would that be the principled Canada that smeared you as a racist for daring to point out the folly of Mass Islamist immigration?

Would that be the principled  Canada where some of the same super tolerant blowhards who called us Islamophobes are suddenly the most enthusiastic of Islamophobes?

Would that be the principled Canada whose security services play down the threat of Muslim terrorism to please their political masters?

Would that be the principled Canada where identity politics is so out of hand that they appointed an Islamophobia Tsar who doubles as an Hamas cheerleader?

Would that be the principled Canada where the Mayor of Toronto declares a ceremonial flag raising “divisive”?

Would that be the principled Canada where most of the government media is as suspect as Press TV?

You see I’m a little confused. I consider myself to be a decent person even if I am one of those Islamophobic Demon Whites this country’s elites hate so fucking much so I’m more than a little surprised you’re asking for my help.

PS. That principled Canada you refer to is a thing of the past. Our principled elites trashed it or have you forgotten?

Barbara Kay: Is TikTok responsible for Gen Z’s hostility toward Israel and Jews?

Last week, with bipartisan support, the United States House of Representatives voted to force the sale of TikTok, the video-sharing platform owned by ByteDance, a company under the influence of the Chinese Communist Party, to non-Chinese owners, or face a ban in the U.S.

The loss of TikTok would have little to no impact on the lives of most mature Americans. But TikTok users are overwhelmingly young, and many are addicted to the platform for a spectrum of reasons — including, for many influencers and small businesses, their own financial benefit.

It is widely acknowledged that TikTok is a powerful force in shaping adolescent users’ self-perceptions and beliefs. The platform’s influence has been plausibly linked to devastating consequences for individuals, but also to the “ mass formation ” of unhealthy cultural trends.

Under the guise of “anti-racism” we have made the hatred of White children normal in our schools.

If applied to any other race or religious group the usual suspects would howl with righteous indignation.

Our school boards, governments, teacher’s unions, the corporate class and even our human rights commissions have deemed the hatred of White people to be publicly acceptable. 

To fight back serves only to affirm our racism and so hating White people has been institutionalized in Canada.

That same hate has been weaponized against Zionist Jews who have been declared “White” by the left.

Tik Tok certainly plays a role as all social media does but Gen Z is more likely acting out a Stockholm Syndrome scenario thanks to being subjected to “anti-racist” struggle sessions from elementary school through university.

For Muslim children the hatred of Israel, Jews and western civilization is bred in the bone and they need no help from Tik Tok or the left.

Welcome to Trudeau’s Canada.

Restrictions listed on recent postings for Canada Research Chair positions have surprised some people. It’s not that someone with a biology degree might be barred from applying to teach South American history, or that an engineer might not be eligible for a position teaching English literature, but rather that skin colour and gender identity have been limiting factors.

Talking is easy. It happens when air passes from the lungs through airways and the larynx, making the vocal cords vibrate and resulting in sounds that, in most adults, we interpret as language. When those sounds correspond to the concrete code of some language, the speaker will be saying things that the listener can decode and understand. After what I have just heard, I suspect that Robin DiAngelo is speaking, because I hear her, but she is not saying things that any human receiver can decode.

I suspect many of us can remember former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley testifying alongside Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on June 23, 2021 at a House Armed Services Committee hearing. In this setting, Milley was asked about reports that the U.S. Military Academy at West Point taught critical race theory along with a seminar on “white rage.”

A corner was turned in Canada on Oct 7.

Teachers at a catholic elementary school in Thornhill, Ont., filled out a “Cultural Humility Self-Reflection” survey during a recent professional activity day, says a parent at the school.

The survey, or “self-reflection tool,” outlines how teachers should adopt specific ideas related to race and culture. Those include recognizing the “privilege” of “dominant cultures” and “systemic racism and white supremacy.” The tool urges teachers to adopt these and other ideas related to the disputed ideology of critical race theory.

America’s Untouchables

In this decade, America’s most effective conservative activist has likely been Chris Rufo, who in 2020 came up with a winning euphemism for all the racist antiwhite hate suffusing our schools, streets, and screens during the racial reckoning: “Critical Race Theory,” Rufo called it.

Personally, I just refer to racist antiwhite hate as “racist antiwhite hate.” But my term is far too self-explanatory to ever catch on. In the 21st century, Americans prefer opaque neologisms like “jump the shark” or “motte and bailey,” which require lectures on Happy Days trivia or feudal fortifications to understand.

“Critical Race Theory” has the advantage of being incomprehensible to those who haven’t been briefed.
