OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney said he walked away from a “bad deal” with the United States and that Canada is now “at war” after being “attacked” by steep tariffs on $29 billion worth of Canadian goods going south of the border.
“We were attacked. You’re at war when you get attacked. We got attacked,” Carney told reporters gather in the West Block foyer on Parliament Hill.
The problem is we’ll be the collateral damage for General Carney’s folly.

Other tools include economics, cyber warfare, diplomacy, information warfare (what used to be called propaganda, psychological warfare, and disinformation), espionage, counterintelligence, and subversion. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 42-year-old Montreal man facing five charges after a Canada Border Services Agency investigation alleged he helped dozens of people obtain visas through fraud and facilitated their entry into Canada.
The CBSA said Friday that proceedings against Abul Kasim were initiated at the Montreal courthouse on July 28.

OTTAWA – The United States is imposing a 50 per cent tariff on a range of Canadian exports starting Saturday, after the two countries could not reach a new deal before a deadline imposed by President Donald Trump.
Trump threatened the new tariffs in July to pressure Canada to move on a number of issues that were flagged as irritants to the U.S., including provincial bans on alcohol imports, tariffs on some American made auto exports and quotas on tariff-free U.S. dairy exports.

It was only a few years ago when the climate change alarms and green energy fad were all the rage at the White House and corporate board rooms. Former President Joe Biden’s policies were all tilted to ending fossil fuels, and many of America’s biggest corporations embraced the concept of net-zero fossil fuels. This was the movement during the Biden years to eliminate virtually ALL oil, natural gas and coal production, and replace these energy sources with windmills, solar panels and electric vehicles.

Canada’s top Mountie has told First Nations leaders in Alberta the RCMP will review the chiefs’ call for a criminal treason investigation into the province’s premier and governing party, a response that has some chiefs optimistic.
