When was the last time any public policy initiative had that level of backing? The Liberals are winning byelection after byelection. Look at the public comments on Carney’s latest Forward Guidance video and you’ll see more positivity than you knew existed on the internet. One Australian commenter said, “I don’t even know what elbows up means, but ELBOWS UP!” Whatever the game, people want Carney to win.
Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) has filed a criminal complaint against Chancellor Friedrich Merz over remarks he made in the Bundestag on September 9.
In the budget debate Merz said the party’s “remigration” slogan was “nothing other than a synonym for ethnic cleansing based on origin and skin colour”.
The AfD parliamentary group says that is a defamatory insult.

David Suzuki: Mark Carney’s investment summit is bound to fail unless it faces this fundamental issue
Prime Minister Mark Carney has invited 300 global CEOs, entrepreneurs and institutional financiers to a Canada Investment Summit. They collectively manage $120 trillion in global assets and the goal of the conference is to catalyze private and sovereign capital into Canadian industries. I understand the urgent need to stand up against Trump, a bullying madman, by reducing our dependence on US markets and I applaud Carney’s efforts. He’s a smart, tough guy.

The human rights industry’s favorite kind of victim is the politically useful one: the victim whose suffering can be attached to an adversary — a designated “villain” — preferably one that Western activists already know how to hate, pressure and organize against.
That is why Palestinian victims, when Israel can be cast as an alleged perpetrator of wrongs, generate an extraordinary machinery of outrage, while Sudanese victims of genocide, Afghan women under the Taliban, Iranian protesters murdered by their own regime, or persecuted Christians in Nigeria largely do not.
