Biden released an image on Twitter of him in the Oval Office on the phone with Xi.

Jamie Sarkonak: Some are more equal than others, according to Canada’s immigration ministry

In a corporate plan for an anti-racist “systems change,” Canada’s immigration ministry says it isn’t fair to treat people equally regardless of background. Instead, people should be treated according to their level of innate privilege.

In other words, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has embraced critical race theory — or diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), as it’s called in practice — with a plan called Anti-Racism Strategy 2.0. It openly signals a shift to the ideological left.

The criminally insane are running the asylum.

After pandemic pivots, where have Canadian workers gone?

Restaurants, airlines, schools and nursing homes are at the sharp end of a labour crunch that’s afflicted employers all year long. In June, the unemployment rate fell to a record low of 4.9 per cent, tightening the screws on an economy with more positions than it could fill.

Amid a prolonged pandemic, laid-off workers took stock and reassessed their priorities. Others, grappling with burnout in precarious or stressful work environments with long hours, simply walked away.

Apology from Pope Francis was welcome — but it doesn’t mean Canadian settlers can now absolve themselves

Indigenous leaders have welcomed the apology by Pope Francis as a historic first step toward reconciliation for survivors of residential schools and the families of the estimated 6,000 Indigenous children who went missing — a call to action made by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) for the Catholic Church.

This is not the first time the Pope has spoken publicly about this topic. He first apologized on April 1, 2022 at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. But apologies, no matter how many, aren’t enough.

This garbage is just another instance of Islamists latching on to Aboriginal issues.

B’nai Brith Announces Lawsuit Against McGill and its Student Clubs

MONTREAL – B’nai Brith Canada is backing a McGill student’s lawsuit against the university for failing to withhold student fees after repeated anti-Israel referendums, in violation of the university’s own policies.

The lawsuit names McGill University, the Student Society at McGill University (SSMU) and Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR), which promoted the referendum.

Members of SSMU endorsed a document accusing Israel of engaging in “settler-colonial apartheid against Palestinians,” and committing SSMU to boycotting all entities “complicit” in this activity, among other measures. The document’s language was so broad that it would have compelled SSMU to boycott virtually all Jewish clubs and associations on campus.

Germany turns off the hot water: Hanover becomes first big city to ban hot water in public buildings in response to Russian gas crisis

The Germany city of Hanover has become the first big city in Europe to ban hot water and central heating in public buildings in response to Vladimir Putin’s weaponizing of gas supplies.

The drastic step comes as Germans have been told to expect sky high electricity bills and sweeping gas rationing measures that will affect their day-to-day lives.

In a sign of things to come, Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony in the north west of the country, will cut off the hot water in public buildings, swimming pools, sports halls and gyms.

Snipped in solidarity: the American men getting vasectomies after Roe – while they can

Following the supreme court’s abortion decision, urologists say more men are taking charge of their reproductive health, to permanent ends

Shawn never really wanted children. A 32-year-old software engineer and amateur weightlifter living in central Florida, he had long contemplated a vasectomy. When he met his fiancee and learned that she also held no grand designs on reproduction, the matter was all but settled. He was, by his estimate, “90% certain”.

The supreme court’s recent overturning of Roe v Wade, and the nationwide convulsions over abortion access, was the final push he and his partner needed. When he read that Justice Clarence Thomas mentioned, in his opinion concurring with the controversial ruling, that the court should reconsider access to contraception, Shawn knew he had to move fast.

Federal Climate Policies, Fertilizer Plan, Will Cause Devastation, Say Saskatchewan Farmers

Farmers in Saskatchewan, a province that has nearly half of Canada’s arable land, say production will fall sharply if they are forced to use less fertilizer and pay increasingly high carbon taxes on fuel.

The government is moving ahead with its goal, first announced in December 2020, to reduce absolute levels of greenhouse gas emissions from fertilizer use by 30 percent below 2020 levels by 2030. Specifically, it aims to reduce nitrous oxide emissions associated with synthetic nitrogen fertilizer use.

In Portland, the Sexual Revolution Starts in Kindergarten

The city’s public schools teach K-5 students to subvert the sexuality of “white colonizers” and begin exploring “the infinite gender spectrum.”

Portland Public Schools has launched a war against the “gender binary” and adopted a radical new curriculum teaching students to subvert the sexuality of “white colonizers” and begin exploring “the infinite gender spectrum.”

I have obtained a cache of documents from a source inside Portland Public Schools that exposes the nature of this curriculum. The lessons seek to turn the principles of academic queer theory into an identity-formation program for elementary school students; it has been adopted in many of the district’s K-5 classrooms.

China and the US: Whose Side Is the Administration On?

China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian stated on July 19 that the visit “would seriously undermine Chinese sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
