Why Mark Carney is choosing to not play trade games with Donald Trump

“The only winning move is not to play.”

Prime Minister Mark Carney must be a fan of sci-fi movies, as this memorable line from the 1983 Oscar-nominated movie “WarGames” neatly sums up Canada’s current CUSMA negotiating stance.

It’s becoming clear that the Liberals have determined that there’s no good deal to be had with U.S. President Donald Trump. Rather than go through the motions, Carney seems to have pivoted to a completely new tactic: not playing the game. The current dynamic is surely far more appealing than the alternative: signing a revised U.S. trade agreement that’s substantially less palatable than what was achieved by either Brian Mulroney or Justin Trudeau in years gone by.

In Hitleresque fashion, he clearly implied that Israel and its population should no longer exist — meaning eliminated.

An Indian man who came to Canada on a student visa has been sentenced to prison in the U.S. for his involvement in a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme targeting seniors, American officials say.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin said in a press release Wednesday that a federal judge sentenced 22-year-old Roshan Shah to 48 months in prison for conspiring to commit money laundering.

Anti-hunting groups don’t make a lot of sense to me. I get people wanting harvested animals killed humanely and not left to rot in the woods. I want that, for crying out loud, and that’s true of every hunter I know.
