With Anandasangaree and the tape, Carney faces his first political firestorm

At the end of a busy day at the United Nations on Tuesday, Prime Minister Mark Carney was asked by a reporter how he could still have confidence in Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, who has been staggered this week by the release of a recorded conversation in which he casts some doubt on the government’s buyback program for “assault-style” firearms.

“Let’s first put this in context, which is that we’re talking about fulfilling a campaign promise. We ran on this first and foremost. Secondly, we’re talking about taking guns off the street in a voluntary fashion,” he said.

My bet is Carney will keep the DEI hire on, ethnic vote whoring is in the DNA of the LPC.

Israeli attempt to annex West Bank would be ‘red line’ for US, says Macron

Any attempt by Israel to annex parts of the West Bank would be a red line for the US – and would represent the end of Arab-Israeli diplomatic normalisation, Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday, claiming that he had been given that assurance by Donald Trump.

Macron also revealed that he had presented the US leader with a three-page plan on the future of Palestine, based on the New York Declaration, the document endorsed by more than 143 states that proposes to exclude Hamas from future rule in Gaza and the West Bank.

Speaking on France 24, Macron said the aim of his meeting with Trump on Tuesday had been to get America, Europe and the Arab states on the same page.

Who do I believe less? Macron or the Guardian?

“I was terrified for him. I actually thought he wanted to kill himself,” Sara Biasetti told the ongoing trial of Becky Hamber and Brandy Cooney, the prospective parents of the boy and the older brother they’re accused of murdering.

Conrad Black: Federal Action Against Antifa Is Long Overdue

Antifa Mugshots

President Donald Trump’s recent threat to declare Antifa a terrorist organization is a reasonable and helpful response to the contemporary problem of disorder and excessive violence in urban America.

Antifa was founded in 2007 in Portland, Oregon, and is a decentralized group of urban associations sharing the name that is a contraction of the expression anti-fascist. It is an anarchistic and particularly anti-capitalist movement that expressly favours violence, though sometimes confines itself to non-violent but obstructive demonstrations. It has had recourse to violence on countless occasions and is never apologetic for it. Its members appear in partially ninja-like outfits that conceal their faces and make it impossible to identify them.

Israeli drones blast ABBA at Greta Thunberg’s aid fleet

Italy has sent a navy frigate to assist a flotilla of pro-Palestinian activists including Greta Thunberg, the Swedish campaigner, after the vessels were attacked overnight by drones.

The group of more than 50 vessels trying to deliver aid to Gaza was targeted in waters near Crete by drones that dropped explosives, damaging boats, as well as grenades containing irritant gas.

… An Italian MP on board one vessel also said ship radios were jammed and suddenly started playing Abba songs at top volume.

A grieving brother wants to change MAID laws. An expert says it’s not so easy

When Perry MacDonald heard that Canadian author Robert Munsch had requested Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) after his diagnoses with dementia and Parkinson’s disease, it touched a nerve.

Munsch recently explained to the New York Times that, under Canadian law, recipients of MAID must be able to actively consent on the day of their death. “I have to pick the moment when I can still ask for it,” he said. If he waited too long, he added, talking to his wife, “you’re stuck with me being a lump.”

Trump Is Right: The United Nations Doesn’t Help Countries, It Destroys Them

President Donald Trump shamed the United Nations Tuesday in a blistering speech, noting that he has personally brokered the end of seven wars during his first seven months in office with no help from the U.N.

Ending wars is supposed to be the U.N.’s job. Formed in 1945 after World War II, the U.N. exists to “to maintain international peace and security.” It is for “solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion,” according to the U.N. Charter. But much like NATO, formed in 1949 to guard against the Soviet Union and stop the spread of Communism, the U.N. has lost sight of it mission.

Governor general blasted for billing taxpayers thousands for clothes

Indian name means “Put it on the tab”

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is calling on the federal government to end the governor general’s $130,000 clothing allowance after documents revealed Mary Simon billed taxpayers thousands for shoes and luxury apparel.

“Simon takes a $378,000 salary from taxpayers, she can pay for her own clothes,” said Franco Terrazzano, CTF Federal Director.

Wilders Runs Again

Finally, Western Europeans are taking to the streets for the right reasons. Well, some Western Europeans in some parts of Western Europe, anyway, and at least partly for the right reasons. In France, where street protests (often violent) are as central to the culture as wine, brie, and the cinematic genius of Jerry Lewis, they’ve been rampaging recently over proposed government budget cuts, but back in April they were kicking up a fuss over a blatantly partisan ruling that declared Marine Le Pen ineligible to run for office until 2030. In Britain, of course, Tommy Robinson’s peaceful Unite the Kingdom rally on September 13 drew – depending on whom you listen to – either 3 million protesters or just barely enough people to form a basketball team. (In the pictures, it sure looked like millions.)

Report: Soros Foundation Sent Millions to Terror-Tied Groups

Since 2016, George Soros’s Open Society Foundations has given more than $80 million (€68.13 million) to groups that are allegedly tied to terrorism or extremist violence, a new report has claimed.

It comes shortly after sources told journalists that the FBI is investigating leftist groups for possible ties to the killing of Charlie Kirk. The Washington-based Capital Research Center (CRC) that produced this report is also looking into whether Alex Soros, who was handed his father’s multi-billion dollar empire in 2023, will “build on his father’s legacy” or “tear it down.”
