Poilievre claims Christians ‘may be the number 1’ victims of hate-based violence

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said Monday that Christians and their places of worship are being targeted and, if elected, he will crack down on religion-based hate through tougher sanctions for crimes like arson.

Speaking to reporters at an announcement on food inflation, Poilievre said he has watched with alarm at the “terrible” spate of church burnings, incidents he described as “terrorist attacks” directed at Christians.

They certainly are world wide thanks primarily to Muslims. And I have seen in the press that Church desecrations are treated as mere vandalism by local authorities.

Blogger arrested for sharing anti-Hamas meme — and claims officer didn’t know about terror group’s crimes

A British blogger has been arrested at his home for sharing a meme saying “F–k Hamas.”

Pete North, 47, shared a video of police arriving at his home in Yorkshire late last Thursday and telling him he was being arrested because he “posted something on the internet” which someone from their hate crime team “didn’t appreciate.”

Even though his meme also said “f–k Palestine” and “f–k Islam,” the cops seemed most focused on him offending the terror group behind the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, North told the Telegraph.

Canada Is Falling for China’s Climate Promises the Same Way the West Fell for Beijing’s WTO Myths

Ottawa is once again easing closer to Beijing, this time under the banner of climate policy. The suggestion is that Canada should welcome China’s pledges on carbon neutrality and treat them as an opportunity for common ground on net-zero emissions. On the surface, it looks pragmatic. In practice, it is naive. Canada risks mistaking performance for progress, applauding promises while ignoring the record of the world’s largest polluter, while granting Beijing the leverage it seeks through climate diplomacy.

U.S. Deports Planeload of Iranians After Deal With Tehran, Officials Say

The deportation flight to Iran is the most stark push yet by the Trump administration to deport migrants even to places with harsh human rights conditions.

The Trump administration is deporting a planeload of around 100 Iranians back to Iran from the United States, according to two senior Iranian officials involved in the negotiations and a U.S. official with knowledge of the plans.

Iranian officials said that the plane, a U.S.-chartered flight, took off from Louisiana on Monday night and was scheduled to arrive in Iran by way of Qatar sometime on Tuesday. And the U.S. official confirmed that plans for the flight were in the final stages. All the officials spoke to The New York Times on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss details publicly.

Eric Ham: Border issues a potential derailment to CUSMA extension

Recent testimony by FBI Director Kash Patel before the House Oversight Committee offers a window into what could be the central issue to potentially see the United States withdraw from Canada-U.S.-Mexico Free Trade agreement (CUSMA).

Responding to a question about the risk of terrorism posed by illegal border crossings from the north, Patel said that while there has been a drop in suspected terrorist crossings from the southern border, there has been an increase in crossings from the north.

The MAGA firebrand stated, “we need more focus on the northern border” suggesting terrorists are originating from China, Russia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Muslim states join European powers in backing Trump Gaza plan

Washington’s European allies urged Hamas to accept the plan, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he supported as he warned the Palestinian armed group of more devastation if it did not comply.

Eight Arab or Muslim-majority nations said in a joint statement that they “welcome the role of the American president and his sincere efforts aimed at ending the war in Gaza”.

They said they “affirm their readiness to engage positively and constructively with the United States and the parties toward finalising the agreement and ensuring its implementation”.

Quebec Government to Consider Banning Face Coverings in Public

Some members of the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) are pushing for a ban on face coverings in public places, but the province has not confirmed whether it will act on the proposal.

The party originally planned to consider a ban on masked protesters at its weekend convention in Gatineau, but an amendment calling for a complete ban on face coverings in public received support from more than half of party members, including from Secularism and French-language Minister Jean-François Roberge.
