Two Quebec battery supply chain projects hit the brakes

The expansion of a battery project planned for Bécancour, Que., has been put on hold, and the plant that was supposed to feed it has been cancelled.

Quebec Economy Minister Christine Fréchette says Ultium Cam — a partnership of General Motors and South Korean manufacturer POSCO — has paused the second phase of a project to produce cathode active materials for electric-vehicle batteries.

Hamas Is Embedded and “Ready to Strike” Across Europe, Terrorism Experts Warn

European leaders are drawing up plans for maintaining peace in the Middle East. But reports suggest they should be more concerned about the presence of extremists at home.

Italian daily Libero Quotidiano warned on Thursday that “Hamas is already among us,” with an “armed, organised network ready to strike.” Giovanni Giacalone, who is an expert on terrorism and Islamic groups, also told il Giornale on Friday that while “it’s difficult to provide a precise estimate of how many Hamas supporters there are in Italy … I wouldn’t be surprised if we reached thousands.”

Would Netanyahu be arrested if he travelled to Canada? ‘Yes,’ Carney says

Mr. Housefather could not be reached for comment.

Mark Carney says that Benjamin Netanyahu would be arrested if he travelled to Canada.

The prime minister made the remark in an interview with British journalist Mishal Husain on her podcast released Friday. In the 37-minute episode, Carney touched on a wide range of topics. He talked about why he ran for office, what he learned from U.S. President Donald Trump and what his next steps were after recognizing Palestinian statehood.

Errant Prince Andrew’s years of scandal finally became too much

There was a time when Prince Andrew was seen as the golden boy, the Falklands war hero and dashing helicopter pilot who could do no wrong.

Even before his time in the Royal Navy, Andrew was widely admired as a fresh-faced prince with the charm and charisma that his older brother Charles could only dream of.

Andrew, Charles said, was “the one with the Robert Redford looks of the family”.

Three individuals were apprehended for conspiracy-related offences last week, stemming from an incident last spring where a Chinese national illegally crossed the Canadian border into the United States, the New Brunswick RCMP says.

The U.S. Border Patrol informed the RCMP about the illegal border crossing that occurred near Grand Falls, N.B., on April 15, the Mounties said in an Oct. 16 press release.

What is happening in Birmingham is a sinister vision of Britain’s future

Shortly after midday on Saturday a baying mob is expected to gather outside the Birmingham offices of Shabana Mahmood.

The Home Secretary would be well advised to stay away, because the ring-leaders are not interested in small measures. In highly inflammatory social media adverts, they have appealed for nothing less than “mass mobilisation” of pro-Palestinian protestors to “shut Birmingham down.” Never mind that the war between Israel and Hamas is officially over: this is an ideological crusade with no obvious end. Those behind the latest march say they “won’t be silenced” until Palestine is “free.”

CHARLEBOIS: The car industry is hurting, and so is food manufacturing

If you needed a wake-up call for the global food-manufacturing complex, these past few months delivered it with a roar.

Dr Pepper Keurig is breaking apart. Kellogg is splitting again. Kraft-Heinz is unravelling. And now Nestle has dropped a bombshell: A plan to cut 16,000 jobs globally — one of the largest layoffs ever seen in the consumer-goods space outside of bankruptcy. In Canada, Nestle refuses to disclose how many jobs will go, despite employing more than 3,500 people across several locations.

Elghawaby pressed Ottawa to install Muslim prayer rooms despite 2% representation

The Justin Trudeau-appointed anti-Islamophobia advisor pushed federal managers to create dedicated Muslim prayer rooms in government offices, even though only 2% of federal employees identify as Muslim, newly obtained records show.

Blacklock’s Reporter says Amira Elghawaby, appointed by cabinet as the government’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia, argued that failing to provide prayer spaces during work hours amounted to “Islamophobia in the workplace,” according to notes released through Access To Information.

She should be fired and the post abolished but Carney cares only for votes.

Illinois Released The Illegal Alien Accused Of Abusing My Daughter’s Body, So I Had To Report Him To ICE Myself

President Donald Trump is in an ongoing struggle with Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, with Pritzker seeking to slander or stymie every effort Trump makes to restore law and order in the streets of Chicago and in Illinois more broadly. That struggle for law and order is personal for me. My daughter died after allegedly being left unresponsive in the home of an illegal alien from Mexico, and Illinois’ politicians put him right back on the streets.

On Feb. 19, 2025, my daughter Megan, a vibrant 37-year-old and mother of two, went missing in Waukegan, Illinois, a few weeks after her release from jail on an old warrant related to her battle with addiction. To our horror, she was located, deceased, on April 10, 2025

The Vatican goes fluffy on Islam again

A FEW weeks ago we published what some might consider to have been a provocatively titled article, ‘Is the Catholic Church complicit in the Islamification of Europe?’ The evidence it contains was, however, compelling.

Now we learn that the Vatican has acceded to a Muslim plea for a dedicated prayer room in the historic and spiritual heart of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Herald reports that Fr Giacomo Cardinali, Vice Prefect of the Vatican Library, said in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that Muslim academics had requested an area in which to pray, and the library had agreed.

From BC Bud to Ecstasy, Meth, and Fentanyl: How Canada’s Vast Landscape and Permissive Laws Were Progressively Exploited by Chinese and Mexican Cartels

Over the past month, The Bureau has traced a pattern of numerous cases linking Canada—especially Vancouver’s port and airport—to methamphetamine pipelines feeding overseas markets including New Zealand and Australia. Reporting uncovered prosecutions showing methods engineered to exploit not only Canada’s transportation infrastructure but also its international image and brand. In January 2023, three men were convicted in the largest meth seizure ever at New Zealand’s border: 713.8 kilograms disguised as maple syrup bottles shipped from Vancouver.
