This Photo Should End Zohran Mamdani’s Campaign

Zohran Mamdani’s campaign for mayor of New York City has always been a political red flag, but his latest move makes it clear that this isn’t just about misguided socialist politics; it’s a full-blown ideological danger. The city that once prided itself on resilience is now flirting with political self-destruction. Mamdani, the self-described democratic socialist, doesn’t just advocate for the usual left-wing laundry list — that’s bad enough — but now a photo op is revealing something far more sinister than bad economic and social policies

WARMINGTON: RCMP probes dwindling Ostrich numbers as CBC laughs at impending deaths

No matter how loudly the CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes laughs and jokes about the culling of living animals, there’s nothing funny about dead ostriches.

Nor is the mocking of the Canadian farmers, who in real life are advocating for them to not be killed but in a mocking way comedian Mark Critch depicts them in wardrobe and narrative as dumb hicks who are subjects of he and the CBC elites’ disdain and ridicule.

OTTAWA — The Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces are suing an intelligence watchdog to prevent it from releasing without further redactions a review that found that some of their human intelligence source handling activities may break the law.

Ontario’s auto sector is faltering. What’s Plan B?

It’s worth remembering that Canada wasn’t exactly pleased when, under former prime minister Justin Trudeau, it found itself offering huge subsidies to automakers just to keep jobs on this side of the border. There was a real fear that generous subsidies included in Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act would create a giant sucking sound, pulling Canadian jobs to the United States.

How the NHL and reality TV explain trade’s Team Canada implosion

I will go to my grave still hollering crankily that there is no such thing as “Canada’s team,” an idea that surfaces every time there’s one Canadian team left in the NHL playoffs.

And the reason it’s not a thing for anyone but the most casual bandwagon-jumper is exactly what’s ripping the trade version of Team Canada apart at the seams at the moment.

Apples stuffed in strollers and half-eaten fruit tossed away: Local orchard farmers say rampant theft is ‘killing our lifestyle’

Melissa Downey was working the checkout booth at her family’s pick-your-own produce farm in early October when she noticed two customers trying to sneak past the exit.

A man was trying to balance an overflowing bag of apples while a woman used her sweatshirt as a makeshift basket. Downey, suspicious they were trying to leave with stolen goods, called out to them.

The woman went up to the booth and, after a brief back-and-forth, slapped Downey before walking away with the stolen fruits.

Where are the Blue Haired Nose Ring People? ‘We have to prioritise South Africans’: Anti-migrant movement blocks foreigners from healthcare

A community clinic just north of Johannesburg has become the frontline of a battle in South Africa over whether foreigners can access public health facilities.

What started as a small local action in one area in 2022 has spread, with activists from the avowedly anti-migrant group, Operation Dudula, picketing some hospitals and clinics in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. They check identity cards and stop anyone who is not South African from entering.

“Dudula” means to remove something by force in the Zulu language.
