Donald Trump on Tuesday said he backed the idea of a ban on diesel exports, which some US politicians are calling for as a way to curb the soaring cost of energy.
Diesel prices have rallied in Europe and the US to record highs as wars in Iran and Ukraine sharply cut exports from some of the biggest producers such as Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. A gallon of diesel fuel in the US was $6.53 on Tuesday, the highest average on record and over 75% higher than a year ago.
Twenty-eight per cent of working Canadians are living paycheque to paycheque and would struggle to meet their financial obligations if their pay was delayed by just one week, according to a survey from the National Payroll Institute released Tuesday.

Influencer Frankie Lapenna stepped into the ring last Friday to take on a 6ft-tall humanoid robot which bore an alarming resemblance to the Terminator.
The event took place in San Francisco and was hosted by robot fighting company REK, which controlled the robot remotely.

Canadian Industry Minister Melanie Joly said there’s bipartisan political support for tariffs in the United States, raising the possibility the country’s manufacturers will face barriers to North America’s largest market long after Donald Trump’s presidency.
Joly is among a number of Canadian officials who have travelled to the U.S. over the past year and a half to encourage American opposition to Trump’s trade policies. Last week, she met with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, and in June she held a meeting with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

CALGARY — Hikers have raised concerns after photographs showing markings on rocks near Lake Louise circulated online, prompting renewed questions about vandalism and the treatment of natural features in protected Canadian parks.
A Reddit post published Tuesday by a hiker who said they recently visited the Devil’s Thumb area included photographs showing writing on rocks along the route.

The media is now running stories bragging about they cut off Trump from media coverage because they’re not doing the pool anymore.
