Scott Adams, ‘Dilbert’ Cartoonist, Author, and Podcaster, Dies at 68

Scott Adams, a cartoonist, author, an independent-minded pundit and podcaster, has died at the age of 68 after a rather public battle against prostate cancer. The host of Real Coffee with Scott Adams, the creator of the legendary comic strip Dilbert, and the author of numerous books, had continued with his livestreaming routine, seven days a week throughout his treatments for the disease up until yesterday. In the process, he treated his audience like close family during his cancer journey.

This sucks. Thanks for the laughs.

‘They just kept killing’: Eyewitnesses describe deadly crackdown in Iran

“I saw it with my own eyes – they fired directly into lines of protesters, and people fell where they stood.”

Omid’s voice was shaking as he spoke, fearful of being traced. Breaking the wall of silence between Iran and the rest of the world takes immense courage, given the risk of reprisals by the authorities.

Omid, in his early 40s and whose name we have changed for his safety, has been protesting on the streets of a small city in southern Iran over the past few days against worsening economic hardship.

2.1M temporary residents will have expired or expiring permits this year. But will they leave Canada?

How immigration policy is made in Canada.

Abhishek Parmar has spent more than six years making Windsor-Essex his new home. But now he is one of the 2.1 million temporary residents who may have to leave Canada this year.

“I have never even thought of leaving this place,” he said. “And now, things are coming to an end. It is not a good feeling.”

The 25-year-old arrived in Windsor-Essex in 2019 from India to pursue mechanical engineering technology at St. Clair College. After having spent more than $80,000 on tuition and living expenses, Parmar said he landed a job at an automotive company in LaSalle. He filed for permanent residence (PR) in 2024 with an Ontario immigration pathway.

Of course not, Carney and his corporate pals love the profits to be had from cheap foreign labour.

The Liberals are following the same play book as the Democrats did in the US.  Weaponized open borders.

If the US were to invade Canada I would not heed a call to arms.

I will not “defend” a ruling class that has impoverished Canadian citizens through mass immigration and the “Green” destruction of our economy.

A blight upon the land. h/t Mauser

Russia’s war in Ukraine drags on for longer than fight against the Nazis

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has lasted longer than the Soviet Union’s fight against Nazi Germany.

The Soviet army spent 1,418 days, from June 22, 1941 to May 9, 1945, battling Hitler’s troops across Europe, eventually pushing them from the banks of the Volga to Berlin.

As President Putin’s “special military operation” in Ukraine marked its 1,419th day on Monday, his troops remain bogged down in the Donetsk region, just 30 miles from where they launched their offensive in February 2022.

How productive is the public service? We’ll never know

The federal government’s limp response to measuring public service productivity — that they’re simply not going to do it — is deflating for those who imagined that Prime Minister Mark Carney would act like a noted economist.

Instead, Mark Carney, the politician, has chosen to ignore his own government’s expert task force’s recommendation to collect data that would measure productivity across the public sector. By that one act, Carney undermined his own credibility as a rational business leader and made a farce of the debate over whether working in the officeis more productive than working at home. Without measuring productivity, how would anyone know?

Trump warns ‘we’re screwed’ if Supreme Court rules against emergency tariffs

WASHINGTON — President Trump declared Monday that the US would be “screwed” if the Supreme Court rules against his reciprocal tariff policies — arguing the feds would have to “pay back” billions in revenue collected over the past year.

“[I]f the Supreme Court rules against the United States of America on this National Security bonanza, WE’RE SCREWED!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Daily Bread to cut off Scarborough food bank after reporting financial concerns to police

Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank is cutting ties with one of its largest member agencies after the charity uncovered discrepancies with invoices Feed Scarborough provided to support grant funding and reported those and other financial management concerns to police.

Daily Bread’s board of directors decided not to renew Feed Scarborough’s membership agreement last week, so it will no longer receive food deliveries or funding from Daily Bread after its membership expires at the end of this month.

The charity’s CEO Neil Hetherington says Daily Bread had previously paused funding to Feed Scarborough while it investigated financial irregularities, but continued providing the organization with food so residents of south Scarborough wouldn’t be impacted.

Here’s How The Media Are Lying Right Now: New York Times ‘Analysis’ Edition

There’s a helpful new way to determine whether the dying news media are lying: Simply look for some variation of the phrase, “according to a New York Times analysis.”

The Times itself has repeatedly relied on that little trick to cast blame on the Trump administration in the death of the angry anti-ICE leftist now identified as Renee Nicole Good. She was shot in Minneapolis last week after recklessly flooring it in her SUV in the middle of the street while disrupting a law enforcement operation.
