There is a growing chorus of Conservatives who want Pierre Poilievre gone. They should be careful what they wish for.

This isn’t necessarily a defence of Poilievre. He has made mistakes, his critics have legitimate arguments and nobody is entitled to lead a political party forever. And maybe the Conservatives will eventually conclude that somebody else should lead them into the next election.

Eritrean migrant raped an elderly man outside a church after dragging him off a bench

An Eritrean man who raped a pensioner outside a church can be pictured for the first time today.

Bruke Desalagne, 33, dragged the victim off a bench before taking him behind a hoarding at St John’s church in Harrow, north-west London, and raping him on a grass verge.

He continued with the horrific attack for 20 minutes before a witness saw the incident from her window and called police.
